Chapter 66 - Lacia

"R-retreat!!!"

Lacia, having lost 30 percent of its forces to Aiz alone, hastily withdrew on Ares's orders.

"Damn it! Just you wait! Next time, I'll definitely...!!!"

"I wish he'd just stop coming..."

Ares, spouting lines like a third-rate villain before fleeing into the distance, was truly pathetic.

"I'm back."

"Yeah, good work."

Now that she'd reached Level 6, she was practically flying.

Not literally flying, of course...

...

Maybe I should make a magic tool that allows flight?

If I used the Talaria Asfi made as a reference, it might be easy enough...

"Let's go back. They got beaten that badly, so they probably won't come again for a while."

"Mm."

War usually brings ruin.

But Orario, which harbored the calamity known as the Dungeon, was less a place of ruin than a place of profit.

"Now then, you must be in a lot of pain, right? If you drink this potion, you'll be all better."

"Food for sale! We'll deliver whatever meal you want!"

"Might you need weapons, by any chance?"

Merchants sold their wares to the captured soldiers of Lacia at several times the usual price.

"Ghh! There goes this month's pay...!"

"Looks like I'm eating nothing but bread this month..."

"Damn Orario!"

The soldiers of Lacia, who desperately needed potions and food right away, had no choice but to buy the goods while crying inside.

"What are you going to do now?"

"Who knows..."

If Lacia hadn't invaded, I'd have tried to slip out of Orario for a bit.

But now that war was underway, I couldn't leave.

"Don't you have anything to do?"

"Lacia ruined that. I was originally planning to step outside Orario for a little while."

The Guild would probably stop me again, though... maybe I should just ignore them and try anyway?

"...Where are you going?"

Aiz said, grabbing my shoulder.

"I was thinking of going to that damned house."

"House?"

"The place where my biological father is."

"...Can I come with you?"

"Why?"

There probably wouldn't be anything good waiting there.

"I don't want to be apart."

"..."

Has she developed separation anxiety or something?

Ever since we went to the Pleasure Quarter, she's gotten awfully clingy.

"Do you hate being with me, Bellf?"

"I don't hate it. If anything, I like it."

We've been seeing each other's faces for years now, so there's no way I'd hate it.

But why is her face turning red?

Is she running a fever or something?
