"Bellf, I got permission!"
"...Ah, I see."
While I was having a pointless conversation with Urus, Bell appeared and shouted.
"Let's hurry."
"Yes!"
I'm looking forward to it.
[Just admit it already. You have the aura of a mother]
Shut up.
The Xenos village was similar to a rural backwater.
It was surprising that they had developed this much with the limited resources available in a confined space called the Dungeon.
"Lord Reed!"
"So that guy is Bellf Crozzo?"
In the house Bell led us to, a red lizardman was sitting there.
"You brought a pretty strong adventurer... no, a blacksmith, Bell-chan."
The lizardman, wearing adventurer's gear, spoke in a welcoming tone.
So you're the one who's been showing up lately and robbing people of their gear?
"Welcome to the Xenos village! Bellf-chan!"
"Uh... thanks."
I hadn't expected a welcome...
[I'm slipping out]
"Ugh..."
Urus quickly slipped out of my left arm.
"...Huh?"
[Nice to meet you. I'm the Urus spirit]
"...A spirit!?"
[Your reaction is better than expected?]
"You're really that spirit!? The one from fairy tales!?"
[That's right. I've never appeared in a fairy tale, but I'm still a spirit]
...
Fairy tales?
There are fairy tales in the Dungeon?
"Reed, is there a place here where I can read books?"
"Books? If that's what you want... they'd be in Das's library."
"Das?"
"The black building at the far right."
"...I'll be right back."
"Sure~"
I hadn't fully looked around the Xenos village yet, but I didn't think this place had the conditions to produce paper.
It was possible to obtain wood in the Dungeon, but unless someone had taught them the technique, I doubted they could make paper or write books.
"Is this it..."
I entered the black building, whose door was open.
"Uh... a human!?"
"Sorry for dropping by out of nowhere, but could I look at some books?"
"Y-yes, go ahead..."
Inside the building, a Dark Fungus, a mushroom monster that appeared on the 19th floor, was reading a book.
"Excuse me."
I searched through all the books in the back of the small library.
Every book in this library was the kind commonly seen outside, and the paper used was also made from wood used outside, not the rough wood obtainable in the Dungeon.
"Who brought these here?"
"Huh? Th-that would be... Fels..."
"Fels?"
That wasn't a name I'd heard before...
"Could it be that Fels—"
"Were you looking for me?"
"!?"
Just as I was about to ask Das about Fels, a figure in a hood appeared in the library.
"A pleasure to meet you, Bellf Crozzo. I am the one who looks after the Xenos, Fels."
"You... are you an adventurer from the Guild?"
"Oh? Why do you think that?"
"There's no way any Familia other than the Guild would be taking care of the Xenos."
Though if it were Ganesha, I wouldn't be able to say for sure... the Guild does hide a lot of things.
"For now... let's say you're half right."
"Half?"
"I'm not an adventurer. I'm more like an errand runner for the Guild's god... something like that."
"Why are you telling me that?"
"Personally, I'm interested in you."
Fels said this as they removed the hood.
"Would you help me, no... the Guild?"
"...Why did you take off the hood?"
"I thought you wouldn't be able to refuse the request of a child, at least in appearance."
