Lukas paced across the small apartment that belonged to the previous Lukas.
This was his last owned property, as he had to sell all the others to pay off the loans, but of course, that wasn't enough.
If that was enough, that foolish man wouldn't have jumped into the restricted zone of devils.
But after cursing his fate for nearly half an hour straight, also throwing some curses in the system's way, he understood one thing.
That he was already deep into this shit and cursing would achieve him nothing.
His death game was scheduled for tomorrow and he barely had a day left to get his shit together and prepare for it.
So without further adieu, he pulled up the main screen of his Stellar Streaming System.
SSS as he called it for short. Funny coincidence since that was exactly what the authors used to describe something overpowered.
How ironic.
Self hating aside, Lukas focused on the system more closely.
[ ~~ Stellar Streaming System ~~ ]
[ System grade: B (Upgradable) ]
[ System Stats: Click to expand… ]
[ System Features: Click to expand… ]
[ System Host: Lukas Specter. ]
[ ~Host~ ]
He first checked the system stats.
[ System Stats ]
[ Stream is currently off. Turn on the stream to view the live stats. ]
[ Gifts received: 0 ]
[ Loyal Fans: 0 ]
[ Streamer Coins: 0 ]
He was half expecting a mysterious gift that was given to him by a secret admirer, but luck seemed to work against him.
Clicking his tongue, Lukas swiftly switched to the next tab that he was actually excited for.
[ ~Host~ ]
[ Lukas Specter ]
[ Soul Strength: Unawakened. ]
[ Stats
STR: 4
WIS: 6
AGI: 5
VIT: 4
Soul: 10

[ Additional Points: 0 ]
[ Inventory: 0/5 | 0/5 ]
[ Physical Form Skills: NIL ]
[ Spectral Form Skills: Soul Circuits ( Basic ), Soul Channeling ( Basic ) ]
Lukas hummed seeing his stats. Considering that the average was 5, his stats were below average.
However, he couldn't understand the meaning of soul strength and the soul stat.
There was no leveling system as what he was accustomed to, no linear growth in the form of farming exp and mobs.
But remembering about the 'projection of his mind', he summoned it forth.
"Why is my inventory divided into two parts? What's the different forms of skills? What's soul strength? Expand more onto stats."
He shot his questions with a levelled voice, as if he was narrating his questions onto an AI chat bot and then waiting for the response.
[ The inventory can be utilized both in the spectral and physical form, each having a capacity of 5 slots. For the skills it is similar, as physical skills cannot be used in spectral form and vice versa.
Soul strength is the standard metric for measuring one's growth, and the host is currently at the bottom of the ladder, or in other words, he is powerless in the grand scheme of things.
Host must do well in the death games to farm the soul strength and also begin streaming to gain extra rewards. ]
One holographic panel was summoned to answer his questions, before it moved to the side and another screen popped up.
[ STR: Strength- Physical stat that relates to the host's physical aspects such as force, grip strength, muscle strength etc. ]
[ WIS: Wisdom- Physical stat that relates to the host's mental aspects such as battle iq, humour, memory, social skills etc. ]
[ AGI: Agility- Physical stat that relates to the host's external body such as elasticity, reflexes, centre of gravity, balance etc. ]
[ VIT: Vitality- Physical stat that relates to the host's internal body such as metabolism, healing factors, resistances etc. ]
[ Soul- Spectral stat that relates to the host's spiritual body. Higher Soul allows the host to use a higher amount of physical stats and grants a bigger tank of soul force. ]
Lukas read through the details thoroughly, nodding in understanding as he understood the use of all 4 of his physical stats. They were based on the main 4 pillars of his body, that further branched to control his body down to the genetic level.
No stat was simply what the name suggested.
A higher strength would grant him toughness but without a decent agility, his body will refuse to move swiftly and the elasticity would be bad.
A higher wisdom would allow him to perform difficult calculations and focus easier in battles as well as the day to day life, but without a higher vitality, his body would be prone to diseases and attacks.
There was no single important stat as the balance between those 4 was very important to maintain.
But, there was a single stat that he couldn't begin to understand.
Soul.
The system was yapping on and on about the spectral body and spectral skills… blah blah blah, but Lukas was clueless about those.
'From the memories, the spectral body is what they use to access the dreamscape, but how is it done exactly? What does it feel like? What role does the soul stat actually play?' he wondered in his mind while keeping an eye out for the changes in the SSS screen.
[ The host is free to access the dreamscape themselves. He owns the headgear. ]
Lukas quickly turned to a table in the apartment, which wasn't hard to find when the room was this small.
On that table rested a glistening, metallic piece of art. A helmet like object without any visor, resembling the magneto's helmet from the x-men films.
Of course, the design of the headgear was much more refined than magneto's.
Countless thoughts and emotions churned in his head, but the most dominating emotion was… excitement.
The gamer, the competitive bastard inside him, woke up with a sharp gasp, as if returning from the coma to regain his throne.
He took quickened, excited little steps towards the headgear and picked it up in his arms, marvelling at how heavy and uncomfortable it felt.
But that was a small price to pay for satisfying his curiosity, as he had seen the activation sequence in the memories already.
He placed the helmet on his head and returned onto the bed, laying down in a comfortable position as he took a deep breath and closed his eyes.
"Take me to the dreamscape. Enter."
