The winter sun was forgiving, and the cool wind blew under the crystal-clear sky.
That didn’t mean much, however, as Rayton felt nothing. He was sitting against a rotten tree absent-mindedly, staring at the Imperial Palace. The distant palace, which looked as small as a matchbox, felt like a toy.
Looking at it from afar, everything that happened there seemed like stories from another world, which had nothing to do with him… including everything that had happened over the last few days.
“……”
Rayton was zoning out.
[A man like you… did the same thing…]
General Hayden's voice scattered in his ears as if he was dreaming.
"…What the hell did he mean by a man like me?”
He couldn't understand a thing.
[My forefathers… tried to stop that and yet….]
General Hayden seemed to know that this would happen. Then, did something similar happen in the past? Was that why he said such a thing?
