Yeah, time. Just like the Emperor of Gripton, I needed time too.
It was uncertain how the nobles and citizens of our empire would react to Gripton's proposal. The loyalty of the nobles was already at rock bottom due to the previous emperor's follies.
So, I wondered how many nobles would truly loyally serve me, who ascended to the throne thanks to my little brother.
If I, a newly crowned empress of less than a year, declared war, would they really stand by me?
Gripton, having absorbed the wealth of Zilton, was no easy opponent. In the event of war, some might predict outcomes and seek more advantageous paths for their houses.
If there was betrayal from within, it wouldn't just be tough for me, but also for Edwin and Haven. In other words, Seven Hills could end up like Zilton.
My asking Cecil to investigate the nobles stemmed from such fears.
