On the day the news arrived that Haven had completely conquered the old territories of Gripton, I had a modest dinner with the ladies of House Dehart. It was to commend those who worked hard for supplies and to celebrate the victory together.
I had been staying at Dehart Castle for almost a month now. Meanwhile, I had grown close to Michelle, Trida’s wife, who had been acting as the lady of the house in the absence of a duchess within the Dehart ducal family.
Given her role in managing the household of House Dehart, known as the gatekeepers of the north, she was adept at preparing and transporting supplies.
Again, I had a thing for people who did their jobs well.
"Michelle, you must have received a letter from Sir Trida as well."
"Yes, Your Majesty."
"According to the report Haven sent, all the Dehart House Knights are safe. Was there anything else?"
"He said he and our sons are all in good health."
