I stretched Edwin's cheek as much as I could and asked him in a stern voice, "Why are you here?"
"I heeeard yoo rrr heere..."
He seemed muttering that he heard I was here.
"But why did you come here?"
"I waooos worrriieed..."
My little brother furrowed his brows, saying he was worried about me.
I knew he was trying to look pitiful, but my heart softened anyway. And Edwin's face felt cold to the touch, which pained me too.
I sighed and let go of his face, and he smirked back at me, his face redder than before.
Genise, watching our reunion with astonished eyes, asked, "Your Majesty, did you understand what he was saying?"
It wasn't that I understood, but after listening to him talking that way for about a decade, I was able to get the gist.
As I nodded, Edwin proudly lifted his face, though I couldn't see what there was to be proud of.
