Concerned that he might worry if he saw me crying, I hugged Haven and buried my face in his chest.
I was deeply in love with this person, this man. He was willing to endure the difficult task of doubting others solely for my sake. How immense might his love be to undertake such a burden? How could he love me to such an extraordinary extent?

"Haven, I love you. I really do."
"I love you too, Your Majesty," Haven confessed gently as he kissed my head.
I held him tighter and vowed, "Then I'll protect you. I won't let anyone hurt you."
"Yes, Your Majesty. Please do protect me."
Haven hugged me back tightly as well. Normally, I would have found such restraint suffocating, but it felt reassuring and safe for the first time.
