The screens flickered to life, reconstructing everything that had happened from morning until now. I had one eye on the footage, and the other on Julian— trying to pick up on the slightest shift in his expression.
From the sped-up footage, I saw everyone. The Alpha leaving his study; Lynn and Sloane hassling their maids over something I could not properly make out; Julian walking around aimlessly like the shady little thing he was; Waverly and me stepping out of the room.
We sorted through the number of security cameras in the house, watching every nook and cranny, with the sole exception of the Alpha's wing. There were no cameras installed there, partly out of respect for my father's privacy.
"This is a waste of time." Julian sighed after a while, stretching his arms and looking around with an unimpressed expression.
As much as it hurt me to admit, I agreed with the bastard. Whoever hacked the cameras would've long accomplished their task before morning and cleared all traces.
