Chapter 1 - chapter 1 the forsaken flame

Long ago… the stars did not guide humanity.

They ruled it.

From the endless heavens above, twelve constellations burned into existence—each one carrying power beyond mortal understanding. They did not offer protection. They did not offer peace.

They chose who would rise…

…and who would be left behind.

From their will, a world was forged.

A world known as—

Zodia.

Zodia was divided into twelve great kingdoms, each bound to a sign of the zodiac. Lands shaped by power. Nations defined by the strength of their stars.

But the balance between them was never equal.

It was never meant to be.

Some kingdoms rose into legend—cities of gold, armies of elite Zodiac Wizards, rulers whose names carried across the world like thunder.

Leo. Scorpio. Capricorn.

The perfect signs.

The chosen.

And then…

There was Aries.

The first sign.

The sign of fire.

The sign of beginnings.

And the sign believed to be the weakest of all.

The Aries Kingdom was no empire.

It had no towering cities, no shining palaces, no warriors feared across the land. Its soil was dry, its harvests uncertain, its people forgotten.

Where other kingdoms trained their children in magic, Aries taught theirs how to endure.

They were farmers. Laborers. Survivors.

Hands cracked from work.

Bodies worn from hunger.

Dreams small enough to fit inside a single wish:

Tomorrow.

Even their king held no power.

No presence.

No respect.

To the rest of Zodia, Aries was not a rival…

It was not a threat…

It was not even worth remembering.

Because in this world—

Power is everything.

All life in Zodia is bound to a force known as Astral Energy—power drawn directly from the constellations themselves.

Those who awaken it become something greater.

Zodiac Wizards.

Warriors capable of shaping the elements, bending reality, and deciding the fate of nations.

They are the protectors of kingdoms.

The weapons of war.

The definition of worth.

But not all power is equal.

Over time, the world created a truth no one dared to question:

The strong are meant to rule.

The weak are meant to be forgotten.

And Aries…

Was cast aside.

Their power was unstable.

Wild.

Uncontrolled.

They burned too quickly—

…and faded even faster.

So the world gave them a name.

A title spoken with laughter and certainty:

"The Weakest Sign."

Not warriors.

Not mages.

Not even worth fearing.

Just… nothing.

At the center of all twelve kingdoms stands a single place where that truth is tested.

Astraeon Academy.

An institution where the most gifted from every kingdom are sent to train. Where power is refined. Where elites are forged into legends.

Only the strongest rise within its walls.

Only the worthy survive.

But every year…

Each kingdom must send students.

Even Aries.

And every year…

They send the same thing.

Not prodigies.

Not nobles.

Not warriors.

Failures.

Children with weak Astral Energy.

Unstable abilities.

No future.

Sent not to succeed…

…but to prove what the world already believes.

That Aries will never rise.

But the stars are no longer silent.

Something is changing.

Beyond the sky, beyond the twelve…

Something long erased begins to stir.

A presence forgotten by history.

A constellation that does not belong.

And when it returns…

The balance of Zodia will shatter.

The strong will fall.

The kingdoms will burn.

And the sign they called worthless…

May become the one thing the world cannot survive without.
