I sat up straighter when the door opened and Warwick walked in. Calista trailed behind him, looking smug. Reid was next to me on the cot, chains still on.
Warwick pulled up a chair across from us and sat down, eyes locked on Reid.
"Reid Gray."
I let out a soft gasp, but Reid just looked back at him.
Warwick leaned back, hands folded. "I spoke with your brother Rhys earlier. Told him I know who you are. Didn't lay out my full demands yet, but he heard enough to understand this isn't some simple trade."
I kept my face neutral even though my stomach twisted. I glanced at Reid. He stayed still, listening.
Warwick kept going. "The Smoke Communion gave Calista a clear enough picture, and outside intelligence filled in the rest. You are Reid Gray, half-brother to Alpha Rhys Gray. Supposedly dead for ten years. And you don't need to confirm it. I know now."
Reid stayed quiet another moment, then said, "So you called Rhys. What'd he say?"
