Chapter 6 - CHAPTER 6: Panther Shifters’ Underground Meeting

Deep beneath the city, hidden under the remains of an abandoned factory, a secret underground basement served as the meeting ground for the Black Claw Panther Clan. The air was thick with tension, and the faint light from hanging bulbs cast long shadows across the concrete walls.

Around a large steel table stood several panther shifters, their eyes sharp and alert. At the head of the table stood their leader, Kael, a tall and intimidating figure whose presence alone commanded silence. His golden eyes scanned the room slowly as the others waited for him to speak.

One of the scouts stepped forward, bowing his head slightly.

"Alpha," he said. "Our spies have confirmed it. Lynx has returned to the city."

A low murmur spread across the room. Kael's lips curled into a cold smile.

"So the wolf finally crawled back," he said calmly.

Another panther shifter leaned forward on the table. "His return will complicate things."

Kael slowly walked around the table, his boots echoing in the quiet basement.

"Perhaps," he said thoughtfully. "But his return also confirms something."

The room fell silent again.

"He came back because of her."

Several of the panthers exchanged glances.

"You mean… Louve?" one of them asked.

Kael stopped walking and looked directly at him.

"Yes," he answered. "Louve."

He tapped a claw lightly against the map spread across the table.

"For years we searched for the last trace of that bloodline. Now that we are this close, fate brings the wolf Alpha back to guard her."

Another panther spoke up cautiously.

"Alpha… if Louve truly carries the power we believe she does, capturing her will not be easy. Especially if Lynx has already found her."

Kael's eyes darkened.

"That is why we will not attack blindly."

He pointed to several marked locations on the map.

"First, we watch. Every movement Lynx makes, every place he goes, every person he meets."

"Master, we all know how coded Lynx is; it won't be an easy task to keep an eye on him, and we would try not to make any mistakes so he doesn't suspect we are keeping an eye on him," another panther commented.

"And Louve?" another asked.

Kael smiled slowly.

"She is the key to something much bigger than any of you realize."

The panthers leaned closer, listening carefully.

"Her bloodline holds the power to unlock an ancient ability," Kael continued quietly.

"A power that can shift the balance between every supernatural clan in this city."

The room grew even quieter.

"If we control Louve," he said, "we control the future."

One of the warriors frowned. "And what about Lynx?"

Kael's claws slowly extended as he rested his hands on the table.

"If the wolf stands in our way…"

His golden eyes gleamed dangerously.

"Then we remove him."

Another scout stepped forward.

"Our men are already watching the Louve Pack territory. If Louve appears, we will know."

Kael nodded in approval.

"Good."

He straightened, his voice turning cold and firm.

Suddenly, Kael slammed his fist against the metal table.

The air around him felt heavy, and no one dared meet his gaze.

The loud clang echoed through the basement.

"You failed," he growled.

The panther scout standing before him lowered his head immediately.

"We almost had her, Alpha," the scout said nervously. "Selin was alone when we attacked."

Kael's eyes narrowed dangerously.

"Almost?" he repeated coldly.

The scout swallowed hard.

"She fought harder than we expected. But before we could finish the job… someone interfered."

A tense silence filled the room.

Kael slowly leaned forward.

"Who?" he demanded.

The scout hesitated before answering.

"We couldn't see clearly at first. But the scent was unmistakable."

Another panther stepped forward.

"It was a wolf."

Murmurs spread across the room.

Kael's expression darkened.

"A wolf?" he repeated.

"Yes, Alpha," the scout said. "A powerful one."

Kael straightened slowly, his mind already working.

"And Selin?" he asked.

"She escaped," the scout admitted quietly.

For a moment, the room went completely silent.

Then Kael let out a low, dangerous chuckle.

"So the wolves are involved now," he said.

Another panther spoke cautiously. "Alpha… Do you think the wolf who saved her knows about Louve?"

Kael began pacing slowly around the table.

"That is what we must find out," he replied.

He stopped and looked at the map spread before them.

"If Selin was attacked, it means she is connected to Louve somehow."

One of the younger panthers frowned.

"But why would a wolf protect her?"

Kael's eyes gleamed with realization.

"There is only one wolf powerful enough to interfere in our hunt without fear."

The room grew quiet again as the others understood.

"Lynx," one of them whispered.

Kael smiled coldly.

"So the Alpha of Stone Peak Pack has arrived."

He looked around the room at his warriors.

"That explains everything."

Another panther asked carefully, "What are your orders, Alpha?"

Kael tapped his claw against the map.

"Find Selin again," he said firmly. "If she escaped once, she will lead us straight to Louve."

"And Lynx?" another asked.

Kael's expression hardened.

"If Lynx stands in our way…"

His claws slid slowly from his fingertips.

"Then we deal with him."

The panthers nodded, understanding the danger of what was coming.

Kael leaned over the table, his voice

dropping to a quiet but deadly tone.

"Louve is the key to something far greater than any of you realize."

He paused before adding,

"And I will not let an Alpha wolf ruin my plans."

The meeting ended with a heavy silence.

Above them, the city carried on as usual.

But beneath the ground, the panther shifters were already preparing their next move.

And this time…

They would not fail.
