Chapter 78 - Chapter 77: The Same Talent?

He leaned forward slightly, his tone becoming more seductive.

"As an SSS-Rank Hunter, you will directly obtain authority and a voice equal to my own, allowing you to participate in the Alliance's highest decision-making."

"The Alliance will provide you with a personal resource quota of one million Points every month for your growth and research."

"The Alliance possesses a top-tier scientific research team, including a biological scientist with an S-Rank Mental Talent. He is currently utilizing dungeon outputs to develop new types of Enhancement Potions, and the results will be prioritized for the Core Circle."

"The Sentinel Alliance controls a more complete system, richer resources, and... a broader stage for the future. A union of the strong is the best choice for dealing with this chaotic era."

Forti spoke at a steady pace, his Points clear and logical; the conditions he offered were undeniably generous.

One million Points per month, priority access to cutting-edge research results, and supreme decision-making power—this was nearly the highest price the Sentinel Alliance could offer.

Any normal person facing such temptations would have long since gone mad with greed, perhaps even itching to join immediately.

After all, ordinary people have no way to interfere with the true political power of America, nor do they have the right to.

Even wealthy and powerful capitalists find it difficult to squeeze their way in.

To be able to decide the direction of the Sentinel Alliance alongside the high-level leadership was already a tremendous honor.

Lilith listened quietly, her ruby-like eyes devoid of any ripples, as if what Forti said wasn't a promise enough to drive any ambitious person mad, but merely a string of insignificant numbers.

Her gaze wasn't even fully focused on Forti; instead, she seemed more interested in a certain extremely obscure and hard-to-detect aura surrounding him.

It was a very faint but familiar aura.

It shared the same source as Fenrir, and even the same source as herself, yet it carried a hint of difference. This aura didn't seem to belong to him originally; it felt more as if it had been plundered.

With a Spirit attribute of over one hundred, Lilith was able to observe any subtle detail, so this point that Forti tried his best to conceal could not escape her perception at all.

This Forti's talent was likely much more complex and interesting than imagined.

Seeing Lilith remain silent for a long time, the smile on Forti's face remained unchanged, but his heart sank slightly.

He knew that she probably wouldn't easily accept being recruited.

For Apocalypse to have reached its current state, it must possess its own pride and ambition.

But he had to try; this was the will of the Sentinel Alliance, his mission, and the starting point for America to achieve glory once again.

"What does Miss Lilith think?"

Forti followed up with a calm expression, as if it were just a normal conversation, but anyone with a discerning eye could see that the atmosphere was currently very delicate.

Hearing his voice, Lilith finally let her gaze fall completely back onto his face. The corners of her mouth seemed to curve upward in an extremely tiny arc—an arc that held no mirth, only a near-indifferent scrutiny.

"Are you finished?"

She asked.

Forti's eyes narrowed slightly, and he nodded.

"In that case, you may leave."

Lilith's voice remained flat.

"Apocalypse will not join any Alliance forces."

The rejection was crisp and neat, leaving no room for negotiation.

Deep within Forti's dark-gold eyes, a cold light flashed.

The air in the meeting room seemed to freeze for a moment, and even the temperature appeared to drop by a few degrees.

He slowly stood up, his tall frame casting a shadow.

"Miss Lilith, perhaps you haven't fully understood the current situation."

His voice was still steady, but its gentleness had already faded, replaced by the majesty and pressure belonging to a superior.

"The Sentinel Alliance represents order and the future; it represents all of America. To reject the Alliance's goodwill means choosing to stand in opposition to order and the nation. I hope you will carefully consider the consequences."

This was a warning bordering on an ultimatum. If Lilith did not agree, then Apocalypse and Sentinel were destined to become adversaries.

No matter how strong Apocalypse was, it could not compare to a true state machine.

The methods of the Sentinel Alliance were far beyond the comprehension of ordinary people. As the former hegemon of the world, America's own foundation was not something these civilian-formed forces could rival.

Lilith remained seated, her small face tilted up to look at him. Her ruby-like eyes were cold and clear, showing no sign of backing down.

Forti and Lilith locked eyes for a few seconds; no anger could be seen on his calm face.

But at this very moment, deep within his dark-gold pupils, an extremely hidden and strange flow of light suddenly flashed!

Almost at the same instant!

On Lilith's originally calm and ripple-less small face, her expression suddenly darkened!

A surge of ice-cold fury and killing intent erupted instantly!

As for Forti, his expression first froze, and then, on that handsome face that was always composed as if everything were under control, a look of near-absurd, unbelievable shock suddenly emerged!

At this moment, the meeting room was deathly silent.

"Two hundred?!"

"No... impossible! For a human, even with an SSS-Rank Defense Talent, how could their Constitution attribute break through that kind of limit?!"

"That has already transcended the scope of biological beings!"

But that feedback was so clear and so arrogant that it instantly crushed all his predictions and composure.

In the tenth of a second while Forti's mind was reeling in shock.

In his vision, the petite figure who had been sitting quietly in the large chair vanished.

Immediately after, an extremely frigid aura instantly locked onto him.

A sense of crisis rapidly surged through Forti's body, causing every pore to burst open!

Combat instincts honed through countless brushes with death overrode all rational thought at this moment!

"Roar—!!!"

A roar filled with shock, anger, and tyranny erupted from Forti's throat!

His body underwent a terrifying Mutation in that instant.

The originally well-tailored dark gray trench coat was torn apart by his suddenly expanding body!

Beneath his skin, it felt as if countless giant pythons were slithering and bursting!

Dark red hair, like steel needles, frantically sprouted! The popping sounds of bones stretching and thickening were as dense as rain!

His skull protruded forward, his snout elongated into a wolf's muzzle, his teeth became sharp and interlocking, and his dark-gold eyes turned into vertical pupils—one red and one gold!

In the blink of an eye, a Werewolf over five meters tall replaced the previously elegant man.

He exuded a violent aura identical to Fenrir's, and even the arrangement of the hair and Bone Armor on his body was exactly the same as Fenrir's.

One could say this was Fenrir's talent: SS-Rank, Bloodline - Werewolf.

This transformation was incredibly fast, completed almost the instant Forti sensed the danger.

After transforming, Forti didn't even think; he instinctively crossed his newly mutated arms to protect his head and chest. At the same time, he lowered his waist, his entire body's muscles tensed to the limit, assuming his strongest defensive posture!
