Chapter 147 - Chapter 146: The Clone

Seven days.

For the surviving tourists hiding on this island, it was a nightmare of long-drawn-out suffering.

Every minute and every second was spent in fear, never knowing if the next moment would bring a Zombie Dinosaur or a xenomorph monster.

Or perhaps those humans who had been transformed into zombies.

But for Lilith, it was merely a slightly prolonged banquet.

For the remainder of the seven days, she no longer participated in those meaningless slaughters.

The Alien Queen had already submitted, the gene bank was in her hands, and all that remained on this island were scraps.

Leading Forde and the other four, she hunted a few scattered herbivorous dinosaurs in the island's outer regions, areas untouched by the xenomorphs and the T-virus.

Stegosaurus, Ankylosaurus, Gallimimus, Pachycephalosaurus... every dinosaur that fell before her became a ticking number within the [Gene Dominator] system.

But the gains were limited.

Acquiring a complete genome required devouring a large number of living organisms; furthermore, the more powerful the creature, the more fragments it provided.

These herbivorous dinosaurs on the periphery were few in number, and the progress they provided was better than nothing, but barely.

To truly master the complete genomes of these ancient creatures, she needed a cultivation base of her own.

And the research data on this island was sufficient to support her in doing so.

"Leader."

Leah walked over, holding a Storage device. Her azure eyes held a hint of exhaustion, but more so the satisfaction of completing her mission.

"All research data has been integrated. Gene sequences, cultivation processes, T-virus variant data, and xenomorph cultivation records—it's all here."

Lilith took the Storage device and weighed it in her hand.

This small object carried the years of painstaking effort from the Umbrella Corporation and research institutions of multiple nations.

To an ordinary person, it would just be a Storage device.

But if given to a Factions with sufficient resources and ambition...

Then, it would be the key to creating a genetic army.

"Well done."

Lilith spoke indifferently, her voice still calm, but Leah keenly caught that subtle hint of approval.

The corners of her mouth curved up slightly before she composed herself, Recovery her professional adjutant persona... [Time until dungeon ends: 00:05:00]

The countdown appeared in everyone's field of vision.

Lilith stood on a reef at the island's edge. Behind her were Leah, Forde's group of five, Brandy, and the old man who had remained silent throughout.

In the distance, the Alien Queen's massive form lay prostrate atop the ruins, its dark-gold vertical pupils looking this way.

Behind it, five Xenomorph Guardss lined up quietly, like soldiers awaiting inspection.

Those Guard were elite units the Alien Queen had created over these seven days by modifying the corpses of Zombie Dinosaur.

Each one was comparable to an SS-Rank Hunter, a BOSS-level existence in any dungeon.

"Brandy."

Lilith spoke.

Brandy stepped forward and bowed his head respectfully.

"Put the Alien Queen and the Xenomorph Guardss into your space."

Brandy did not hesitate. He closed his eyes and activated his SS-Level Talent, [Storage].

Invisible spatial ripples spread from him like an unseen giant net, enveloping the Alien Queen and the five Guard.

A second later.

The massive figures vanished from the spot simultaneously.

All that remained was a stretch of empty ruins and the faint, lingering scent of blood in the air.

Brandy opened his eyes, fine beads of sweat forming on his forehead.

Storing and transferring so many living organisms at once was no small burden on his Spirit; by now, his Storage space was completely filled.

Yet he did not complain, only nodding to Lilith while panting slightly.

"It is done, Leader."

Lilith nodded slightly, her gaze turning to Forde and his group.

"Forde, you five, add Leah as a friend."

Forde was stunned for a moment before reacting, quickly opening his system panel to add Leah.

"Once we return to reality, Leah will send someone to pick you up."

Lilith's voice was as calm as still water.

"The rules of Apocalypse will be explained to you. Remember for yourselves what should be done and what shouldn't."

The five nodded repeatedly, their eyes filled with excitement and relief.

Seven days of living in fear, seven days of trembling—it was finally coming to an end.

And their lives would begin a new chapter as new members of Apocalypse.

Lilith finally looked at Brandy.

"You."

Brandy's heart tightened.

"After returning to reality, head to Apocalypse immediately. Settle the Alien Queen in the designated location."

She paused, then continued.

"I hope I won't have to go there personally when the time comes."

Lilith tilted her small head up, her gaze calm, but everyone present knew that if she had to make a trip, it wouldn't be as simple as just bringing back the Alien Queen.

"Someone will build a nest for it on the back mountain. You are responsible for coordinating with the engineering team to ensure everything is designed according to the Alien Queen's habits."

Brandy took a deep breath and nodded solemnly.

"Understood, Leader."

He was a smart man.

He knew that the greatest value in Lilith sparing his life and inducting him into Apocalypse was this Alien Queen.

As long as he completed his task well, his status in Apocalypse would not be low.

But if he dared to harbor any ulterior motives...

The fate of that Titan Tyrant would be his future.

As the countdown ended.

White light enveloped everyone.

With one last look, Lilith gazed into the depths of the island.

There, Zombie Dinosaur still roamed, xenomorphs still hunted, and survivors still struggled in despair.

But none of this had anything to do with her anymore.

Teleportation initiated!

Light swallowed their vision, and the figures of Lilith and the others vanished completely... Jurassic Park fell silent.

Seven days had turned this former paradise into a complete hell.

Zombie Dinosaur and xenomorph monsters slaughtered and devoured each other on this land, forming a brand-new, fragile ecological balance.

A few survivors still hid in corners, praying for rescue.

But they didn't know that the world outside was no longer the one they were familiar with.

And in the deepest part of this island...

Beneath the volcano's crater.

Inside a hidden bunker, the lid of a Hibernation Pod slowly opened.

A hand reached out from the pod—pale and slender, yet powerful.

Then, a middle-aged man's face appeared.

He sat up from the Hibernation Pod, stretched his stiff neck, and reached for the gold-rimmed glasses prepared nearby, resting them on the bridge of his nose.

Behind the lenses, his eyes were calm and deep, carrying a faint smile.

"Exactly as I thought,"

He whispered to himself, his voice echoing in the empty bunker.

"They will be back."

His clone had already died in his place.

While he himself—the true, complete original body with all his memories—waited quietly in this hidden bunker for the storm to end.

"A pity..."

He stood up and stretched his body.

"That Alien Queen cost me all my effort. A perfect creation merging the Mosasaurus, the T-virus, and the Plaga Parasite."

He pushed up his glasses, the smile on his lips deepening.

"But, it was just effort, after all."

He walked out of the bunker and followed a secret passage deeper underground.

An elevator.

The metal doors closed slowly, the floor numbers on the indicator ticking downward.

-5 meters.

-10 meters.

-20 meters.

-50 meters.

Ding.

The doors opened.

Before him was a massive ecological space.

Silver-white metal walls, a lighting system simulating sunlight, constant temperature and humidity, and a massive pane of transparent glass.

The Man with Gold-Rimmed Glasses walked to the glass, hands clasped behind his back, quietly watching the world behind it.

There lay a meticulously simulated prehistoric jungle.

Amidst giant ferns, a slumbering behemoth lay prostrate in the center of the jungle.

As if sensing his arrival, the behemoth slowly opened its eyes.

One.

A dark-gold vertical pupil.

Behind the glass, that massive body slowly rose.

It possessed pitch-black scales, like the hardest metal.

On its back grew a pair of broad dragon wings, which pressed tightly against its Torso when folded.

On its forehead, three massive horns like those of a Triceratops curved forward, emitting a lethal, cold glint.

Its size was not as exaggerated as that of the Alien Queen.

From head to tail, it was only about thirty meters long.

But the innate pressure emanating from the deepest part of its genes was purer and more primal than that of the Alien Queen.

Because—

—it was still in its infancy.

The Man with Gold-Rimmed Glasses stood before the glass, meeting the gaze of those dark-gold vertical pupils.

After a long time, he smiled.

"No rush,"

He said softly, as if comforting a child, "grow up slowly."

"We have plenty of time."

"When they think everything is over..."

"...we will give them a surprise."

The dark-gold vertical pupil blinked.

The massive young beast lay back down, closed its eyes, and drifted into a dream.

The Man with Gold-Rimmed Glasses took one last look at his masterpiece, turned, and left.

The elevator doors closed.

The ecological space returned to silence.

Only the light simulating the sun fell quietly upon that sleeping, slowly growing, massive body...
