A handsome teenager with short black hair and purple eyes stared quietly at the large screen which has began to play his whole life in the nineteen years he spent on earth. Soon tears began dripping down his face as the scenes of his past life unfolded in front of him...
Earth.....
The bustling city of Los Angeles stood tall, proud and daring as always. Winter had just set in, with the city welcoming its first snow the previous night which made the evening a chilly one.
As always, the streets of LA were busy and traffic's were running their daily shift with the roads most known three colours. The air around was filled with a pleasant snowy smell, coupled with the noisy atmosphere presenting the city in its usual Los Angeles way.
Julian breathed in deeply and glanced at the mask nurses who stood across his bed and on his both sides and closed his eyes. He has already taken this decision and will see it through.
"You are a hero. Not all heroes wear capes. Remember that" one of the masked nurses seated right beside him said in a low tone as he assured the younger man.
Just then, the door to the room opened and the doctor supposed to carry out the surgery entered.
"It's time" he announced. The assistant doctor got up and dislodged the patient bed from its holding, making it easy to push. One of the five nurses moved closer to the bed to help push it out into the operation room.
Lucian turn to look at the doctor and asked a question "Will she be alright" he asked.
"I'll do my best" the doctor answered and patted his shoulder, avoiding any promises. Julian understood that there was fifty outcome in the surgery Wendy was going to have and he had already bet his life on it, hoping his luck will be strong.
"What about my sisters? Are they alright" Julian asked.
"Yes, they are fine" the doctor replied.
"Do they know" He asked again.
This time the doctor only shook his head and Julian nodded in understanding.
Julian and his two sisters lost their parents when he was only ten in a car crash.
As the only survivor in that crush, endured the unpleasant experience of watching his parents bleed to death which left him stiff and cold hearted, growing up.
He was only able to gain a little of humane side due to his sense of responsibility and love towards his sisters. Despite the love and care he received from the orphanage, he trusted only four people in his life: Alexa his girlfriend, Wendy and Solace, his sisters and Portia the dean of the orphanage he grew up in.
These are the people he had grown to trust and love in his whole twenty years alive, of course excluding his parents who died long ago.
After being diagnosed with cancer three years ago, he had only done one thing and that is to secure the future of his sisters.
He had engaged in anything that would bring him money and most of them were illegal but he never regretted because he had a reason for doing that. He sacrificed college to allow his sisters a better chance to their future and right now on his potential death bed, Julian still didn't regret it. In fact, he felt proud of it.
At least, he was dying knowing fully well that his sisters will have a good future and full support to pursue their dreams.
This was the main reason he had decided to donate his heart for his best friend.
The doctor turned to Julian and gave him a nod which Julian returned. One of the nurses began pushing the patient bed which Julian lay on as they exited the room. They used a small hall devoid of people until they arrived at room with operation ward written boldly at the top. When the last person entered, the door closed behind him and a few seconds later, the red siren sign on above the entrance came into life.
