Chapter 43 - THE BROKEN OATH

08:00 PM

Private Clinic & Laboratory – Sector 3

The sharp scent of antiseptic mingles with dust from old buildings that are beginning to crack. Dr. Suizen, a middle-aged man with dark circles under his eyes, sits slumped at his desk. Opposite him, Rion—the man whose life he saved on the operating table years ago—sits calmly.

The Ironport General Hospital is no longer a place for healing. It has become a dirty business hub where lives are valued based on bank balances, and the organs of poor patients often "vanish" mysteriously.

The Healer's Lament

"Look at this place, Rion," Dr. Suizen said, gesturing to his operating room which lacked even basic medical supplies. "I once swore an oath to save anyone. But now? The hospital director cares more about the insurance contracts of Sector 1 officials than the lives of children in Sector 6."

Suizen poured a glass of cheap whiskey, his hands trembling slightly. "They force me to use second-hand equipment just to save on the budget, while they build new villas outside the city. I don't feel like a doctor anymore; I feel like a butcher working for a rotten system."

Rion observed Suizen's hands—the hands that had once stitched the bullet wounds in his chest with incredible precision. He knew that Suizen's expertise was too valuable to be wasted in a hospital dying of corruption.

### **An Invitation to the Dark Side**

"You've suffered here long enough, Doc," Rion said quietly. "That hospital will never be what it used to be. The system in Ironport isn't designed for kindness; it's designed for consumption."

Rion placed a silver briefcase on the table. Inside was the most advanced medical equipment he had seized from the Steel Group's secret warehouses, complete with medicines that couldn't be bought legally on the open market.

"I have a place in Sector 7. A clean lab, unlimited supplies, and most importantly... you will never be forced to ignore a patient again. You will be the primary doctor for Nero Familia. Your task isn't just to treat my team, but also the people this city has forgotten."

Suizen stared at the equipment with sparkling eyes. It was every surgeon's dream. However, he knew the consequences. "Joining you means I become a criminal in the eyes of the law, Rion."

"The law in this city is already dead, Doc," interjected Ren, who suddenly appeared in the doorway. "We are just trying to build a new order from its ashes. Join us, and you will have the power to truly heal without fearing bureaucracy."

The New Member: Dr. Suizen

Suizen took a long breath, then downed his whiskey. He pulled off his dull white hospital coat and tossed it into the trash.

"Fine. I'm sick of watching people die just because they're poor," Suizen said firmly. "Take me to your headquarters. But remember, Rion... if I join, I need assistants. I can't work alone if you keep bringing blood-soaked people to my table."

"Don't worry, Doc," Rion smirked. "I've already prepared a team for you. And Shanon and Echi... they could learn a lot from you."

That night, Nero Familia gained more than just brains and muscle; they now had a "heart"—an expert doctor who would ensure that every wound they received would never be the end of their fight.
