Chapter 48 - Chapter 48 Karma

Far away from Earth, the universe was slowly aligning.

The Nine Realms were moving closer together.

This was an ancient cosmic event called the Convergence.

Because of this rare event, invisible magic portals opened up all over the different worlds.

On Earth, a brilliant scientist named Jane Foster accidentally walked right into one of these hidden portals.

She was instantly transported to Svartalfheim, the dark and dead world of the Dark Elves.

There, hidden deep underground, she found something ancient and terrible.

The Aether. The Reality Stone.

The dark, red, fluid magic immediately woke up and entered her body.

It was far too powerful for a normal mortal shell to hold. It started to drain her life away, making her incredibly sick and weak.

Thor quickly found her and rushed her back to Asgard.

He laid her on a beautiful golden bed in the royal healing room.

The best doctors in Asgard used their advanced, glowing technology, but they all shook their heads.

They could not pull the dark magic out of her.

Thor stood by her bed, completely devastated.

His strong shoulders slumped. He gently held Jane's pale, cold hand, and tears filled his bright blue eyes.

"I cannot lose her,"

Thor whispered, his deep voice breaking with pure heartbreak.

"Even with all the power and magic in Asgard, I cannot save the woman I love."

Suddenly, a soft, warm hand touched Thor's shoulder.

It was his mother, Queen Frigga.

Unlike the worried doctors. She was calm.

"Do not despair, my brave son,"

Frigga said gently, her voice full of comforting warmth.

"Asgard's magic cannot save her. But you already know someone who can."

Thor looked up, completely confused.

"Who, Mother?"

Thor asked hopelessly.

"Even Father's mighty power is useless against this ancient force."

Before Frigga could answer, a calm, familiar voice echoed directly inside Thor's mind.

"She means me, Thor."

Thor gasped. He quickly looked around the empty room.

"Sam?"

Thor asked out loud, his eyes wide with shock.

"I can feel the Reality Stone,"

Sam's voice echoed peacefully in Thor's head.

He was using the massive power of the Mind Stone to talk across the vast distance of the stars.

"Keep her safe, Thor. I am coming to Asgard."

The mental connection slowly faded. Thor stared at his mother in absolute wonder.

"How did you know he would help?"

Thor asked.

Frigga smiled warmly and looked out the large, open window into the starry sky.

As a powerful witch, she had the rare gift of foresight.

She could see the hidden paths of the future before they happened.

"The Convergence is waking up old enemies,"

Frigga explained softly, her eyes sharp and wise.

"The Dark Elves have awakened. They are coming here to take the Aether. They plan to plunge our home and the entire universe into eternal darkness."

Frigga's smile grew a little wider, almost playful.

"But they are going to have a very, very hard day,"

Frigga chuckled softly.

"They do not realize they are trying to steal a treasure from a Cultivator. He already considers the Aether his property."

Thor stood up, feeling a sudden, massive burst of hope in his chest.

If Sam was coming, Jane was going to live.

Frigga placed her hand gently over her own heart.

She remembered a dark, terrible vision she had seen many months ago.

She had seen herself dying by the blade of a Dark Elf, sacrificing her life to protect Jane.

But that dark future was completely gone.

"My fate was supposed to end tragically, My son,"

Frigga told him honestly, looking deeply into her son's eyes.

"I was supposed to die in this upcoming battle. But the future changed. Do you remember those rare, magical herbs I gathered from the secret gardens across the Nine Realms?"

Thor nodded slowly.

"Yes,"

Thor replied.

"You sent them to Earth as a gift."

"I gave them to Sam,"

Frigga smiled perfectly.

"In the ancient world of cultivation, karma is an absolute rule. By giving him those precious gifts to help him make his pills, I connected my fate to his."

Frigga looked back at Jane, her eyes full of absolute peace and confidence.

"Because I helped him grow, his immortal luck now protects me,"

Frigga said proudly.

"I will not die today. The Dark Elves are marching to their own doom, my son. The Cultivator is coming to collect his prize."

Karma was a rule far beyond mortal understanding.

Even the most mighty beings in the universe, gods and monsters alike, were still trapped under the heavy chains of Karma.

But Sam understood it perfectly.

By accepting Frigga's gifts in the past, he had tied his fate to hers.

Her kindness bought her life.

A few hours later, a massive, roaring beam of rainbow light crashed down into the golden palace of Asgard.

The light faded, and Sam stepped out into the beautiful, shining halls.

Right behind him was Tony Stark.

Tony was wearing a sharp suit and carrying a silver metal briefcase.

Tony stopped and looked around. His mouth fell open.

"Okay, I am completely confused,"

Tony said, looking at the giant golden pillars and the flying boats zooming outside the window.

"This place is amazing. It is incredibly advanced. But..."

Tony pointed at a group of Asgardian guards walking by.

They were wearing heavy metal armor and carrying sharp swords.

"Why are they dressed like old Vikings?"

Tony asked, shaking his head.

"You have anti-gravity spaceships, but you still fight with sticks and shields. Where are your computers? Your science makes absolutely no sense."

"They use magic as their science, Tony,"

Sam smiled calmly, walking forward.

"Their technology took a completely different path."

Thor rushed down the wide golden hallway.

He looked tired, but a huge smile broke across his face when he saw them.

"Sam! Stark!"

Thor called out, grabbing both of their hands in a firm, grateful shake.

"Thank you for coming."

"We are a team, Thor,"

Sam said gently.

"How is Jane?"

"She is weak,"

Thor sighed, looking back toward the healing room.

"The Aether is fighting her body. Our healers do not know how to remove it without killing her."

"That is exactly why I am here, Point Break,"

Tony smirked confidently. He lifted his silver briefcase and tapped it.

"Sam gave me a quick science lesson on this 'Aether' stuff before we left. It acts like a fluid parasite. So, I built a toy to fix it."

Tony opened the case. Inside was a sleek, glowing metal device that looked like a high-tech syringe mixed with a strong vacuum.

"I built an Aether extractor,"

Tony explained proudly.

"It uses a specific magnetic frequency to safely pull the magic out of her cells without damaging her body."

Thor stared at the small machine in absolute wonder.

"You built a device to extract an ancient Infinity Stone... in just a few hours?"

Thor asked, completely stunned.

"I am very good at my job,"

Tony smirked.

In the original timeline, things would have been much darker.

The Mind Stone would have messed with Tony's head, giving him terrible nightmares of the Avengers dying.

That fear would have driven him crazy and made him build the murderous robot, Ultron.

But because Sam had safely locked the Mind Stone away inside his own mental world, Tony was completely safe.

His brilliant mind was perfectly clear, happy, and focused only on helping his friends.

"Tony will use his machine to pull the Aether out of Jane,"

Sam told Thor, crossing his arms and looking toward the healing room.

"And what happens to the Aether after that?"

Thor asked cautiously.

"It cannot stay in Asgard. It is too dangerous."

"Don't worry,"

Sam smiled, his deep eyes shining with quiet excitement.

"The moment Tony pulls that red magic out of her, I am taking it. I have a very big, empty space in my collection that needs to be filled."

"And the Dark Elves?"

Thor asked, gripping his hammer.

"If they track the Aether here, they will attack the city."

"Let them come,"

Sam said softly.

"I could use some target practice before I try out my new toys. Take us to Jane."

Thor led Sam and Tony into the quiet, golden healing room.

Jane Foster was lying on the bed.

She looked very pale, and her breathing was weak.

The dark red energy of the Aether was slowly moving just under her skin.

Tony didn't waste any time. He walked right up to the bed and opened his silver briefcase.

"Don't worry, Dr. Foster,"

Tony said with a confident, reassuring smile.

"I am going to get this nasty space bug out of you right now. Just hold still."

Tony placed the glowing nozzle of his extractor over Jane's chest.

He typed a few quick commands on a small screen and pressed a button.

The machine hummed loudly. A strong, invisible magnetic pull locked onto the ancient magic.

Slowly, the dark red liquid started to lift out of Jane's body.

It floated through the air and was sucked perfectly into a thick, glowing glass container inside Tony's briefcase.

It was incredibly easy.

The moment the last drop of the Aether left her body, Jane took a deep, clear breath.

The healthy color instantly returned to her cheeks.

She blinked and sat up, looking around the room.

She survived.

"Jane!"

Thor cried out. He rushed to the bed and wrapped his strong arms around her, hugging her tightly.

Tears of pure joy ran down his face.

Jane hugged him back, burying her face in his shoulder.

"I feel so much better,"

Jane whispered happily.

Sam stood near the door, watching the two lovers hold each other.

He smiled, but his deep eyes turned thoughtful.

He looked at Jane and remembered what was going to happen next in the original timeline.

Jane was safe from the Aether today.

But years later, her human body would betray her. She would get cancer.

She would become terribly sick again, and eventually, she would die, leaving Thor completely broken and alone.

Sam shook his head slightly. He was a Cultivator.

He defied the heavens and changed fate.

He was not going to let a good woman die of mortal sickness.

"Thor. Jane,"

Sam said gently, stepping closer to the bed.

Thor pulled back and looked at Sam with absolute gratitude.

"You saved her, my friend,"

Thor said warmly.

"We owe you everything."

"Tony did the heavy lifting today,"

Sam smiled, pointing at the billionaire who was proudly locking his briefcase.

"But we need to talk about your future."

Jane looked at Sam, a little confused.

"My future?"

Jane asked.

"Yes,"

Sam nodded, his voice turning serious but kind.

"Thor is an Asgardian god. He will live for thousands of years. But you, Jane, are human. Human bodies get old. They break down. They get terrible diseases like cancer."

Thor's happy smile slowly faded. He looked down at his hands.

That was his greatest, darkest fear.

He knew he would eventually have to watch Jane grow old and die while he stayed young.

"I know,"

Jane said softly, her voice full of sadness.

"I have thought about that a lot."

"You don't have to worry about it anymore,"

Sam said smoothly, offering them a bright, warm smile.

"I can fix it."

Jane's brilliant scientific mind woke up. She looked at him with wide eyes.

"Fix it? How? With Asgardian medicine?"

Jane asked.

"With cultivation,"

Sam explained simply.

"It is an ancient path of magic. I taught it to Captain America and Peggy Carter. It makes your body perfect. It wipes out all sickness, completely stops you from aging, and gives you limitless life."

Thor stood up, his blue eyes shining with sudden, incredible hope.

"You would teach us this magic?"

Thor asked breathlessly.

"Of course,"

Sam nodded.

"I will teach you how to breathe the energy of the universe. And because Thor already has a massive amount of power, he can share it with you through Dual Cultivation."

Jane knew what Dual Cultivation meant, and a small, happy blush appeared on her cheeks.

"So,"

Jane smiled, looking up at Thor's hopeful face.

"If we practice this... I won't get sick? I won't ever get cancer?"

"Never,"

Sam promised her firmly.

"Your cells will be too strong for any disease to survive. You will be able to stand by Thor's side forever."

Jane reached out and took Thor's large hand in hers. She squeezed it tightly.

"I am a woman of science,"

Jane laughed softly, tears of happiness filling her eyes.

"But for you, Thor... I am very ready to learn some magic."
