Sam walked right through the bright red gates of the Xiao Clan.

No one tried to stop him at first.

He walked with such calm and absolute confidence that the busy servants simply thought he was a highly important guest.

But as he walked deeper into the beautiful stone courtyard, the clan members started to whisper.

They looked at his strange, modern clothes.

They noticed that he had absolutely no profound energy radiating from his body.

Finally, a tall man wearing the green robes of a Xiao Clan guard stepped right in front of him.

"Stop right there,"

The guard said, crossing his arms.

He looked at Sam with deep curiosity and a little bit of suspicion.

"Who are you? And why are you walking into the Xiao Clan today? We are very busy preparing for a wedding."

Sam stopped and gave the guard a polite, friendly smile.

"Hello,"

Sam said.

"My name is Sam. I am a traveler from very far away."

"A traveler?"

The guard frowned.

"We are not accepting random guests today. What do you want?"

"I am not here for the wedding,"

Sam explained simply.

"I am here to meet with the Fifth Elder, Xiao Lie."

The guard raised an eyebrow. Xiao Lie was a very respected and powerful man in the clan.

"Why would Elder Xiao Lie want to meet with a stranger who has no profound energy?"

The guard asked, his voice getting a little colder.

Sam's smile faded just a little bit. He made his face look very serious.

"Because I knew his late son, Xiao Ying,"

Sam answered quietly.

The guard's eyes went completely wide.

The name of Xiao Lie's dead son was a very heavy, sad, and sensitive topic in the clan.

No one ever joked about it.

"You knew Xiao Ying?"

The guard asked, his voice suddenly softening with surprise.

"Yes,"

Sam nodded slowly. He was easily bending the truth, but his voice sounded incredibly sincere.

"He was a very good man. I came here today to help his son, Xiao Che."

The guard let out a heavy sigh and shook his head.

"Xiao Che?"

The guard said, looking a bit sad for the boy.

"You are wasting your time, traveler. Xiao Che is a good kid, but his body is completely crippled. His profound veins have been broken since birth. He cannot cultivate at all. People call him trash. No doctor in this city can help him."

"That is where you are wrong,"

Sam said, his voice full of absolute certainty.

Sam looked the guard right in the eye.

The heavy, peaceful weight of his Golden Core energy naturally made his words sound like undeniable truth.

"I have traveled across the world to find him,"

Sam said smoothly.

"And I brought a very special medicine with me. It is a rare medicine that can completely cure his condition and fix his broken veins."

The guard stared at Sam in total shock.

Fixing broken profound veins was considered completely impossible by every doctor on the entire continent.

But the strange man standing in front of him spoke with such heavy confidence that the guard could not help but believe him.

"Wait right here,"

The guard said quickly, his tone turning very respectful.

"I will go get Elder Xiao Lie immediately. Please, do not leave."

The guard turned around and ran as fast as he could toward the inner buildings.

Sam stood quietly in the courtyard, smiling to himself.

Little D and Little H stayed perfectly quiet on his shoulders.

The first step of his plan was working perfectly.

A few minutes later, an older man rushed into the courtyard.

He wore simple gray robes, but his eyes were sharp. This was Xiao Lie, the Fifth Elder.

"Are you the man who claims to know my son?"

Xiao Lie asked, looking at Sam with deep doubt.

"Xiao Ying died many years ago. How did you know him?"

"We met by chance while traveling,"

Sam answered smoothly, giving a respectful bow.

Xiao Lie frowned. He did not look convinced at all.

Sam stepped a little closer. He lowered his voice so only Xiao Lie could hear him.

"I know a lot of things, Elder,"

Sam whispered.

"For example, I know that the boy inside is not your biological grandson. He is the son of your son's best friend. They swapped their babies to protect him."

Xiao Lie's eyes widened in absolute shock. His face turned completely pale.

He took a step back, breathing heavily.

No one in the world knew that secret. Only he and his dead son knew.

"You... who are you?"

Xiao Lie asked, his voice shaking.

"I am a friend,"

Sam smiled gently.

"And I am here to help your grandson."

Xiao Lie swallowed hard. He completely dropped his guard.

"Please, come with me."

They walked quickly into a quiet, warm bedroom inside the estate.

Lying on the bed was a pale, young boy.

He was completely unconscious and sweating.

Sitting right next to him was a beautiful young girl with tears in her eyes. It was Xiao Lingxi, Xiao Che's little aunt.

Sam looked at her. He knew her true, shocking identity from the story. She was actually the Ancestral Goddess.

But she just looked at Sam with worried, innocent eyes.

She didn't react with any hidden power.

That meant Sam could do exactly what he planned.

"What happened to him?"

Sam asked.

"He was too excited about his upcoming wedding,"

Xiao Lie sighed sadly.

"He just passed out."

Sam walked over to the bed and placed two fingers on Xiao Che's wrist.

Sam frowned slightly.

"He didn't pass out from excitement, Elder,"

Sam said seriously.

"He has been poisoned. Someone tried to kill him."

"Poisoned?!"

Xiao Lingxi gasped, covering her mouth in horror.

Sam could feel the boy's life slowly fading.

He was very close to dying.

Sam knew that if Xiao Che died right now, the soul of a man named Yun Che would take over his body.

But Sam wasn't going to let him die.

As Sam checked the boy's body, he felt the heavy, divine presence of two items hiding inside him.

The Sky Poison Pearl and the Mirror of Samsara.

Sam moved his hand over the boy's chest.

Using his strong, ancient Golden Core Qi, he gently pulled the two magical treasures right out of Xiao Che's body.

He quietly stored them safely inside his spatial ring.

With the treasures secured, Sam used a gentle wave of his pure energy to push the dark poison completely out of the boy's system.

Xiao Che's pale face gained some color, and his breathing instantly became steady and normal.

"The poison is gone,"

Sam told them.

"Thank the heavens,"

Xiao Lie let out a massive breath of relief.

"But I am not finished,"

Sam said, standing up straight.

"I promised to fix his broken profound veins."

Sam held out his right hand. A bright, glowing red gem appeared in his palm.

It was the Reality Stone.

Sam didn't have a magic pill, but he didn't need one.

He could simply rewrite the rules of reality.

A beautiful, powerful red light washed over Xiao Che's body.

The light gently sank into his chest, effortlessly fixing every broken vein, every damaged nerve, and making his body completely perfect.

Xiao Lie stood in the corner of the room, completely frozen in shock.

He felt the heavy, terrifying power coming from the red stone.

He had thought Sam was just a normal man with absolutely no profound energy.

But he was so completely wrong.

The power Sam was releasing right now was deeper than the ocean and heavier than a mountain.

"He is a true master,"

Xiao Lie thought to himself, his heart beating wildly with pure awe.

"He might even be stronger than me!"

The red light from the stone slowly faded away.

On the bed, the pale boy groaned softly.

He slowly opened his eyes.

He was not Yun Che. The soul of the poison master had not taken over.

This was the original Xiao Che. He was just a normal, gentle, and very timid boy.

"Che'er!"

Xiao Lingxi cried happily. She hugged him tightly.

Xiao Che looked around the room, completely confused.

"What... what happened?"

Xiao Che asked weakly.

"I felt so cold, and then suddenly I felt a warm light."

Xiao Lie walked over and gently placed a hand on his grandson's shoulder.

"You were poisoned, my boy,"

Xiao Lie explained softly.

"But this man saved your life."

Xiao Lie pointed at Sam.

"He is a friend of your late father. And he did more than just save your life, Che'er. He fixed your profound veins. You can cultivate now."

Xiao Che froze. His eyes went incredibly wide.

He quickly closed his eyes and felt the energy inside his own body.

For the very first time in his life, his veins were open.

Profound energy was flowing smoothly through his chest.

Tears immediately began to fall down the boy's face.

"I am... I am not trash anymore?"

Xiao Che whispered, his voice shaking with pure emotion.

He quickly climbed out of the bed and dropped to his knees right in front of Sam.

"Thank you, senior!"

Xiao Che cried loudly, bowing his head.

"Thank you for giving me real life back!"

Sam smiled warmly. He reached down and gently helped the boy stand back up.

Looking at this original Xiao Che, Sam felt a wave of pity.

The boy was so gentle and timid.

He was not a ruthless fighter.

In a cruel world like this one, a soft boy like him would be easily bullied.

Sam decided he wanted to help him just a little bit more.

"You are very welcome, Xiao Che,"

Sam said kindly.

"But just having working veins is not enough. You need strength to protect yourself and your family."

Sam reached into his spatial ring and pulled out a small jade bottle.

He handed it to the boy.

"These are heavenly pills,"

Sam explained.

"Take one every month. They will make your body as strong as a dragon."

Then, Sam gently pressed his glowing finger against Xiao Che's forehead.

A rush of warm, ancient knowledge flowed directly into the boy's mind.

"I have just given you a special cultivation technique,"

Sam told him.

"It is much better than the normal profound techniques of this world. If you practice it every day, you will eventually reach the Golden Core Stage. That will be more than enough power for you to survive and live happily."

Xiao Che was completely speechless.

The knowledge in his head was beautiful and profound.

He didn't know how to repay such a massive debt.

Suddenly, the heavy wooden door to the bedroom was pushed open violently.

A young man wearing expensive robes walked in.

He had a very arrogant smirk on his face.

It was Xiao Yulong, the grandson of the First Elder.

He was the one who had secretly poisoned Xiao Che.

Xiao Yulong looked angry when he saw Xiao Che was awake and healthy.

Then, he glared at Sam.

"What is an outsider doing in the inner clan?"

Xiao Yulong demanded loudly, acting very superior.

"We are preparing for a wedding! Guards, throw this stranger out right now!"

Sam did not get angry. He didn't even frown.

He simply looked at Xiao Yulong and smirked.

Sam didn't say a single word to the arrogant boy.

Instead, he just gently flicked his finger.

*Whoosh!*

Outside the window, the bright blue sky suddenly turned dark.

A terrifying, heavy pressure crashed down on the entire estate.

Everyone in the Xiao Clan stopped what they were doing and looked up in pure terror.

High up in the sky, an ocean of one hundred thousand glowing pink swords floated right above the clan.

They pointed directly down, humming with enough power to destroy a whole country.

Inside the room, Xiao Yulong fell hard onto the floor.

His legs were shaking so much he couldn't stand.

He was completely terrified.

Sam walked slowly over to the window, his hands resting easily in his pockets.

"I came here today only out of respect for Elder Xiao Lie and his grandson,"

Sam said.

His voice was calm, but it echoed loudly in the minds of everyone in the entire clan.

"If anyone bothers them, or disrespects me... I do not mind wiping this little clan completely off the map."

Sam looked down at the shivering Xiao Yulong.

"Do not test my patience, boy,"

Sam warned him softly.

"Because even the main Xiao Sect would not dare to cross me."
