Chapter 2 - Chapter 2_"No Escape "

The moment the pen left the paper—

Everything changed.

Racilee barely had time to breathe before one of the men in black stepped forward.

"Pack her things," he said flatly.

"No."

The word came out before she could stop it.

All eyes turned to her.

Racilee stepped back, her heart racing now, the weight of what she had just done crashing down on her all at once.

"No," she repeated, louder this time. "I'm not going anywhere with him."

Luciano didn't move.

Didn't react.

But the room… shifted.

"You already are," he said calmly.

That calmness snapped something inside her.

"I signed a paper, not my freedom!" she shot back. "You don't get to just take me like I'm some—some property!"

A dangerous silence followed.

One of the guards took a step forward.

Luciano lifted a single finger.

The man stopped immediately.

Power.

Effortless power.

Racilee hated it.

She turned sharply toward her father. "Say something!"

But he didn't.

He couldn't even look at her.

That hurt more than anything.

"You're really just going to let this happen?" her voice cracked. "You're handing me over like I mean nothing?"

Her father finally spoke, but his voice was weak.

"It's the only way to keep you alive."

Racilee froze.

Alive?

"What does that even mean?" she whispered.

No one answered.

And that silence said enough.

Fear crawled up her spine.

Slow. Cold. Real.

Luciano took a step closer.

"Enough," he said quietly.

The word felt final.

Racilee shook her head, backing away. "Don't come near me."

But he kept walking.

Not fast.

Not aggressive.

Just certain.

Like distance didn't matter because she had nowhere to go.

"Stay away from me!" she snapped, grabbing the nearest thing on the desk—a glass—and throwing it.

It shattered against the wall.

No one flinched.

Not even him.

Her chest rose and fell rapidly now, panic mixing with anger.

"I am not going with you!" she shouted.

This time, Luciano stopped.

Right in front of her.

Close enough that she could feel his presence wrapping around her like a storm.

"You don't seem to understand your situation," he said.

His voice dropped lower.

Colder.

"You don't get to decide anymore."

Something inside her refused that.

Refused him.

Before she could think, Racilee turned and ran.

Straight for the door.

"Stop her."

The command was quiet.

But immediate.

Strong hands grabbed her before she even reached the handle.

"No—let me go!" she struggled, kicking, twisting, fighting with everything she had. "Get your hands off me!"

Her voice echoed through the hallway as they dragged her back.

"Luciano, call them off!" she shouted desperately. "I swear I'll—"

Her words cut off as she was pulled to a stop.

Right in front of him again.

Breathing hard.

Eyes blazing.

Fighting.

Luciano watched her for a long moment.

Not angry.

Not annoyed.

Studying her.

Then—

"Leave her."

The guards hesitated.

"Now."

They released her instantly.

Racilee stumbled slightly but caught herself, refusing to look weak.

Silence fell again.

Heavy.

Charged.

She glared at him. "If you think this is over, you're wrong."

A faint, almost invisible smirk touched his lips.

"I don't think it's over."

He leaned slightly closer.

"I know it's just beginning."

Her stomach twisted.

"I will not be controlled by you," she said, her voice shaking but firm.

Luciano's gaze darkened slightly.

"You already are."

That hit deeper than she expected.

"I hate you," she said quietly.

This time, he didn't respond immediately.

Instead, his eyes held hers—

Intense.

Unreadable.

Then he spoke.

"Good."

That single word confused her.

He straightened, adjusting his jacket like nothing had just happened.

"Hatred is better than fear," he added. "Fear makes people weak."

A pause.

"Hatred makes them interesting."

Racilee stared at him.

Who was this man?

Before she could speak again, he turned away.

"Bring her," he ordered.

The guards stepped forward again.

Racilee didn't fight this time.

Not because she had given up.

But because something inside her had shifted.

This wasn't something she could win by force.

Not now.

As they led her toward the door, she glanced back once.

At the office.

At her father.

At the life she had just lost.

And then she walked out.

Not as a daughter.

Not as herself.

But as something else entirely.

Something owned.

Something trapped.

Something dangerous… if pushed too far.

Outside, the cold Milan air hit her instantly.

A sleek black car waited.

Engine running.

Door already open.

Luciano stood beside it, watching her approach.

Waiting.

Always waiting like he knew the outcome before it happened.

Racilee stopped a few steps away from him.

"I won't break," she said quietly.

His eyes held hers.

Then—

"We'll see."

And with that, she was pushed gently into the car.

The door shut.

The lock clicked.

And as the car pulled away into the night—

Racilee realized something terrifying.

She hadn't just entered his world.

She had been swallowed by it.
