Chapter 8 - Chapter 8: Ripples Through the Guild.

By the third week, the guild's reactions had deepened from casual teasing to genuine curiosity—and a few undercurrents of surprise.

Gray cornered Juvia one afternoon near the lockers, scratching his head awkwardly. "Look, Juvia… if you've moved on, that's… good. Really. Lucy's solid. Just… you two are spending a lot of time alone at her place. People are talking." His cheeks were faintly red, old jealousy mixing with awkward acceptance. Juvia met his eyes steadily for the first time in years. "Gray-sama… Juvia thanks you for the past. But Lucy-san makes Juvia want to become better. For herself. And for… the bond we are building." Gray nodded slowly, a weight lifting from his shoulders. "Yeah. I get it. Just be happy, okay?"

Natsu, never one for subtlety, challenged them during a group training day. "If you're getting so strong together, prove it! Spar with me and Erza!" The bout was even—Lucy and Juvia's synced attacks (water-enhanced celestial blasts) forcing Natsu to dodge wildly while Erza's swords clashed against reinforced waves. Afterward, Natsu grinned, punching the air. "You guys are scary now! Like a whole new team! But… you keep looking at each other weird. Is this some kinda secret power-up ritual?" Happy snickered. "They're in loooove~"

Erza pulled Lucy aside later, arms crossed. "Your closeness is palpable. It reminds me of bonds that make mages unstoppable. Whatever is growing between you… nurture it. But remember, Fairy Tail is family. If Juvia's heart is involved, protect it." Lucy's smile was serene, though inside her dominant instincts purred at the thought of exactly how she'd protect—and claim—what was hers. "I intend to, Erza."

Even Makarov, from his perch on the second floor, chuckled into his beer. "Young love—or whatever this is—always brings strength. Just don't flood the guild hall with happy tears, Juvia."

The whispers spread beyond the guild too. Townsfolk in Magnolia began noticing the pair walking the streets together after jobs: Lucy's arm occasionally brushing Juvia's, the way Juvia's posture straightened whenever Lucy spoke. "The celestial mage and the water woman," they'd murmur. "They've become inseparable."
