Chapter 2 - Chapter2:I Don’t Want to Wake Up

You are about to step forward, but suddenly, a strange sensation rises within you again—as if something is holding you back, refusing to let you move.

You turn to look at the white rabbit. Its eyes reflect the eerie glow from the door ahead.

"What should I do?" you ask, your voice laced with hesitation.

The rabbit does not answer immediately. It stares at you quietly, as though weighing something unseen.

"Before you go in…" it finally says, slowly,"…once you enter, you will understand."

That answer does nothing to ease your mind. If anything, your heart begins to pound even harder.

You turn back toward the door. Light spills gently from the other side—not urging you forward, yet not willing to wait for you either.

"And what if I don't understand?" you ask again, your voice softer now.

The rabbit smiles—not a reassuring smile, but the smile of someone who has been through the same thing before.

"That," it says, "is where every dream begins."

A cool wind passes through once more. The ground beneath your feet begins to fade, like an image slowly being erased.

The rabbit steps back. Its form starts to blur, as though it does not belong in the place you are about to enter.

"Remember this," its voice grows faint,"In this dream… I won't be walking with you."

Your heart tightens. Before you can say anything—

the door swings fully open.

Light consumes you. All sound vanishes in an instant.

And when you open your eyes again—

you know immediately:

you are no longer in the kingdom of beasts.

And this dream… is waiting for you to choose.

19:05

A dark place. You don't know where.

"Where am I…?" you murmur.

Then, words appear before you.

Choose a dream.

Below, two options:

Haunted CastleorPrincess Castle

The moment your eyes linger on Haunted Castle, the air turns cold. Faint whispers echo—like distant voices begging for help.

But when you look at Princess Castle, warmth surrounds you. The scent of flowers drifts softly… yet beneath that beauty, you feel something hidden—something sorrowful.

"…This isn't a normal choice," you whisper, clenching your fist.

The rabbit's voice echoes faintly in your mind, as if from far away:

"Remember… no dream is ever what it seems."

Both choices tremble slightly, as if aware of your hesitation.

And somehow, you can feel it—

whichever you choose, that dream is already waiting for you.

"…Princess Castle," you decide.

The moment you choose, light bursts around you. Darkness tears apart like a curtain, revealing a soft pink sky without a sun.

The ground beneath your feet becomes smooth white marble—cool, yet almost alive beneath your steps.

Ahead stands a magnificent castle. Its ivory towers stretch into the clouds, shimmering with impossible beauty.

Flowers bloom along the path—yet there is no wind. Still, their petals sway gently… as if breathing.

You step closer.

The castle doors open on their own—silently.

Inside, everything is perfect. Too perfect.

A girl in a pale blue dress stands on the balcony above. Her long hair drifts slowly despite the still air. Her face is beautiful—

but her eyes are strangely empty.

Her smile is gentle… yet deeply, quietly tired.

Soon, a child appears.

The dreamer.

The one whose dream you chose.

"So pretty…" the child whispers.

You almost believe it too.

The princess looks down at the child. Her smile shifts—like someone who has finally found what they've been waiting for.

She raises her hand and waves softly.

The child waves back without thinking.

But you notice something the child doesn't.

Her shadow… does not follow the light.

It stretches unnaturally—pointing toward a sealed door deep within the castle. A door with no light behind it.

Your heartbeat slows.

This dream… is not made for happiness alone.

And then, a whisper brushes your mind:

Don't let him stay here too long…

The princess descends the stairs gracefully, each step soundless.

"Welcome," she says gently to the child. "You must be tired."

The child smiles—a pure, carefree smile.

"There's no one here to scold you," she continues. "No one to rush you. You can play… rest… dream… for as long as you want."

She takes the child's hand.

The moment they touch, the castle comes alive—flowers bloom brighter, lights glow warmer, laughter echoes softly.

The child laughs.

And for a moment… you think:

Maybe this is okay.

But then you notice—

the child never asks about going home.

Never asks about time.

Only: "What should we play next?"

And every time he says, "Can I stay a little longer?"—

the princess's smile widens…

while the light around them dims—so subtly the child doesn't see.

You look at her shadow again.

It grows longer. Heavier.

Clinging.

"If he wakes…" the princess whispers to herself,"…everything here will disappear."

A chill runs through you.

She isn't lying.

But she isn't telling the whole truth either.

She doesn't want to hurt him.

She just wants… to exist.

You clench your fist.

Forcing him awake will hurt him.

Letting him stay… means he'll never leave.

Your eyes drift to the sealed door.

Maybe the answer isn't pulling him out—

but making him want to wake up.

The child sits in a garden filled with living toys.

You watch quietly.

Then—

a sound.

Soft. Out of place.

Beep… beep… beep…

The child freezes.

"What's that?"

The princess turns instantly. Her smile flickers—just for a moment.

"It's nothing," she says quickly. "Just the wind."

But you see it—

the sky above begins to crack.

The child frowns.

Fragments of reality flash—

A small bedroom. A worn blanket. Light through a window.

"No…" he mutters. "This place is better…"

The princess kneels, gripping his shoulders. Her hands are unnaturally cold.

"Don't look there," she whispers. "That world hurts you. This one doesn't."

The dream begins to tremble.

You step forward.

"He has someone waiting," you say softly. "It's not perfect… but he's not alone."

She looks at you.

"If he wakes…" she whispers,"…I'll disappear."

You say nothing.

Because she already knows.

The child looks between you both, tears forming.

The cracks spread.

The light fades.

This is the moment—

you cannot choose for him.

Because waking up… must be his decision.

The beeping grows louder.

The world fractures.

"I don't want to go…" the child cries. "Can't I stay a little longer?"

The princess hugs him tightly—too tightly.

"Don't listen," she pleads. "Stay with me. You're safe here."

But the sound won't stop.

The dream collapses.

"I'm scared…" the child whispers."…but I miss my mom."

That is the end.

The princess closes her eyes.

"It's okay," she whispers."Just remember… you once had a place that was warm."

Her body dissolves into light.

"Don't go!"

The child reaches—

but grasps only fading light.

Everything shatters.

You catch him—

as the world disappears.

Before she vanishes completely, she looks at you—

and smiles through tears.

Thank you… for bringing him back.

Darkness.

Silence.

The dream ends.

The child wakes.

And something… is gone forever.

You look at your hands.

You did the right thing.

But doing the right thing…

doesn't mean it doesn't hurt.

You return to the kingdom.

The rabbit is waiting.

"You're back," it says. "It's almost time for you to wake up."

"Yeah…" you reply quietly. "I guess I have to wake up."

But then, the rabbit speaks again:

"You could stay here… forever."

"…You wouldn't have to wake up at all."
