Chapter 25 - Chapter 24

You could hear a pin drop loudly in the Mansion , but it was the kind that came right before a knife in the back.

Kang-woo stood in the nursery they'd started throwing together—soft gray walls, a crib that cost more than his old apartment—hand on the small swell under his shirt. The baby kicked like it already had opinions. He smiled before he could stop himself.

Then the door slammed open downstairs.

Min-jae.

He'd slipped past the guards somehow, face bruised from the court loss, eyes wild. Two hired thugs flanked him, guns out. "Last chance, princess. Give me the kid. Sign the papers. Or I take it right now."

Kang-woo didn't run. He walked straight toward them, barefoot on the marble, Ji-woon's shirt hanging off one shoulder. "You really think you can touch my baby?"

Min-jae raised the gun. "I raised you once. I can raise it better."

Ji-woon came down the stairs like death in a tailored suit. No words. He just moved. Grabbed the first thug by the throat, slammed him into the wall so hard the plaster cracked, then turned on the second before the guy could even aim. One punch. The man dropped.

Min-jae swung the gun toward Ji-woon.

Kang-woo moved faster than he should have in this soft body. He tackled Min-jae from the side, drove an elbow into his ribs the old street way, then stomped on his wrist until the gun skittered across the floor. Min-jae screamed.

Ji-woon was already there, yanking Min-jae up by the collar and slamming him against the grand staircase railing.

"You're done," Ji-woon said, voice flat. "Board's cleaned out. Shares frozen. Lawyers disbarred. Every dirty deal you ever made is on the prosecutor's desk by morning. You're not taking my Omega. You're not touching my child. You're nothing."

Security finally poured in and dragged Min-jae out kicking and screaming threats that nobody listened to anymore.

The hall went quiet again.

Kang-woo stood there breathing hard, hand back on his stomach. Ji-woon turned to him, eyes still black with leftover rage, and dropped to his knees right on the marble.

He pressed his forehead to the bump, big hands spreading wide like he could shield the baby from the whole world.

"I crushed them," Ji-woon said against the fabric. "All of it. For you. For us."

Kang-woo threaded his fingers through Ji-woon's hair and felt something in his chest finally settle.

"I want this," he said, voice rough. "The kid. The house. The psychotic Alpha who just murdered half his family for me. I want all of it. I'm staying. No more running. This is my life now."

Ji-woon looked up, eyes burning.

He stood, pulled Kang-woo in, and kissed him like the mansion could burn down around them and it wouldn't matter.

But outside the gates, black vans were already circling again.

The crew hadn't forgotten the ten million.

And they were done waiting.
