They all finished eating with their stomachs full. Gideon wiped his mouth with a cloth and praised the rich flavor of the meal.
"This is incredibly tasty," Gideon said, nodding approvingly at Commander Feng. He then turned to Solomon. "You were absolutely right about him, Solomon. The meal was delicious. He is an excellent cook."
Feng puffed his chest out, a rare smile breaking through his usual scowl. "Thank you, Sir Gideon. Your praise honors me."
"Where did you learn to prepare food so efficiently in the field?" Gideon asked.
"I worked as the royal chef's primary assistant back during my early military deployment, Sir," Feng responded proudly.
After they finished cleaning up the campsite, Gideon turned to the pavilion master. "Yue, you should take the tent. The rest of us will manage perfectly fine sleeping outside under the stars."
