Thalia's face instantly turned red, so she quickly turned her gaze toward the window.
"I think you've been reading too many myths about nine-tailed foxes," she said, trying to sound normal.
William let out a soft chuckle.
"Is that so?" he replied, his tone light, but his eyes still on her. "I've read one... about how they need to sleep with nine men to gain the nine tails."
Thalia instantly frowning, "Ridiculous! There are no such thing."
"Then enlighten me," he continued, leaning slightly closer again. "What is the correct version?"
Thalia pressed her lips together. For a moment, she didn't answer.
"How would I know?" she replied lightly. "I am not nine-tailed fox."
"Ah…" William leaned back a little, a small smile forming. "I was actually happy, thinking I married a ni—"
He paused, "I mean… an eight-tailed fox," he corrected smoothly. "Since you said you lost one."
A quiet chuckle escaped him, clearly enjoying teasing her.
