Just like Number Thirteen said, Gao Yang couldn't be angry with Karima.
And towards Number Thirteen, Gao Yang couldn't be angry either, because he knew what kind of person Number Thirteen was. It's impossible to blame someone who has absolutely no moral compass, or even understands what morality is, for giving his own sister some lousy advice.
So, Gao Yang could only blame himself.
"This was a mistake. It's best we don't make it again."
After mumbling with little confidence, Gao Yang said softly to Karima, "You have a point. I will keep it from Yelena, but we should maintain a certain distance in the future. I need to think carefully, think about how to handle the relationship between us."
Gao Yang is no Saint, and his heart isn't hard enough. Plus, he really lacks wisdom when dealing with feelings. When a mistake has already been made and he doesn't know how to handle it, he has no choice but to choose a delaying tactic.
