I wanted to use a spartan for my main character, but thought it would be better to show his journey as a spartan, rather than waking up as a spartan, or a video game template system. Don't get me wrong, those can lead to great stories. I just want to have a grounded character you know exactly what they are capable of before any Isekai shennanigans.
