The Rich Get Richer

QuietSeven
This is a world where the poor are treated like discarded trash, while the rich live in comfort and luxury. Any thought of rebellion exists only in dreams. The wealthy don’t just outnumber the poor or control the military; they are literally superpowered, they're so strong that they can tear a person apart like a sheet of paper. The poor are hardly seen as human. Once a year, they are pulled out for a parade, where the rich can kill them whenever they want. To a rich person, this seems normal. To everyone else, these people are cruel, sadistic monsters. Laws don’t protect the poor; someone can be killed in broad daylight, and the rich walk past without a second thought. Still, not all of them are the same. A few feel quiet guilt and are secretly disgusted by what their kind has become. But none are willing to take action, except for one. John Harper. After five years of planning, he finally decides to stand against the empire. He doesn’t seek power; he wants to help the very people his world has condemned and ease the burden of knowing he once stood on the wrong side.
