Just because they developed a record-breaking track record for producing so many masterwork mechs in a row did not mean that they could guarantee that their next product would be able to measure up to the same standard.
The pair had been too arrogant. They had taken their ability to make high-quality products for granted. They had not sufficiently foreseen the possibility where the demands of the mech design projects exceeded their competence. Now they found this out at one of the worst possible times.
If they had demonstrated more caution and self-reflection, then they would have figured out that attempting to fabricate the latest iteration of the Promethea Mark II would have been too much of a challenge at their current level.
