The gang was safely reported to the police for their crimes. Madam Sheng was immediately sent to the hospital for a thorough medical check-up. The team who had saved Yu Qi and Madam Sheng had already left, disappearing without a trace, leaving Yu Qi alone with Long Hui. Long Hui then asked Yu Qi to follow him into the car, and she followed his order quietly without any protest.
It seemed that Long Hui could already see through her.
"Why did you not call the police?" Long Hui's question suddenly broke the long and almost suffocating silence inside the car.
"How did you know about this incident?" Yu Qi did not answer his question directly.
Instead, she threw another question back at him.
"I went to the restaurant with Yue and saw that note." Long Hui answered calmly.
"Then, you should already know why I did not call the police."
"Sigh... You are a girl and only 16 years old."
"I know I'm 16 years old." Yu Qi pouted slightly, feeling a little dissatisfied.
"Remember, if something like this happens again, report it to the authorities, or you can come and find me." Long Hui replied.
Yu Qi turned her gaze toward Long Hui. 'He looks so handsome.' Yu Qi suddenly shook her hand lightly, trying to clear her thoughts. What was she even thinking just now?
"Find you?" Yu Qi asked, her tone carrying a hint of confusion.
"Yes, I will help you."
Yu Qi then turned to look out of the car window, a small and almost unnoticeable smile forming on her lips.
"Now, let's talk about the shot." Long Hui's voice suddenly became serious.
Yu Qi's body stiffened immediately. What kind of explanation could she give to Long Hui so that he would be satisfied? The excuse she had used before about random aiming could no longer be used. Random aiming, yet the bullet went straight to the middle of the forehead, and it happened twice? Who would ever believe such a ridiculous explanation? She thought very hard about it, trying to come up with something reasonable.
"Hmm... You can't explain that?" Long Hui pressed further when he saw her hesitation.
"Er... Actually, I have been practicing shooting." Yu Qi said hesitantly.
She did not know whether this man would accept such an excuse.
"Oh... Then, can I know where you found a gun to practice?"
"I found it."
"Where?"
"In the mountain nearby."
"Then, you were holding onto it? You should have reported it to the police."
Yu Qi remained silent, not knowing how to respond.
"Sigh...Give me the gun."
"It's not with me anymore. I already threw it away."
"Huh? Threw it away? Where did you throw it?"
"After the bullets ran out, I threw it back at the same place where I found it. The next day, the gun was already gone. I don't know who took it." Yu Qi said, hoping that Long Hui would accept this explanation.
This way, the evidence regarding the gun would be completely gone.
Long Hui seemed to be thinking about her explanation. He was clearly doubtful, but only this girl knew the truth. For now, he decided to accept it without pressing further.
Yu Qi then noticed that the car was not heading toward the restaurant.
"Where are you taking me? This is not the way to the restaurant." Yu Qi said, turning quickly toward Long Hui.
A trace of panic began to rise within Yu Qi. Long Hui noticed that the girl had started to panic. He suddenly felt the urge to tease her a little.
"Yes, I'm going to bring you somewhere else." Long Hui answered in a vague and roundabout manner.
"I want to go home. Please send me to the restaurant." Yu Qi insisted.
"It's not safe there."
"I can protect myself. You know that too."
"We have already arrived." The car came to a stop in front of a house.
Long Hui stepped out of the car and then helped Yu Qi out as well.
"YU QI!!!"
Yu Qi suddenly heard someone screaming her name. Before she could react, she was pulled into a tight hug. She quickly realised that it was Feng Yue.
"I'm so glad you are safe. I was really scared when Brother Hui and I saw that note." Feng Yue said as she hugged Yu Qi tightly, refusing to let go.
