"Now, feel free to attack me if you truly wish. But don't blame me if your bodies end up a bloody mess later." Yu Qi warned the gang.
The dim light of the house illuminated her striking face, which was currently graced by a smile. A smile that looked breathtakingly beautiful, yet utterly sinister.
A cold, primal fear began to seep into the men, including their leader. The girl, who had initially looked like any other ordinary student, now possessed the terrifying aura of a predator.
They realised she might actually kill them with that gun if they lunged at her. However, the leader was still blinded by the thought of the fortune he could amass if he could just get this girl under his thumb. He assumed that this was likely the first time she had ever held a firearm.
The leader grabbed one of his men and whispered a frantic command into his ear. The man nodded and suddenly bolted in Yu Qi's direction.
Yu Qi smirked. With a steady hand and a cold eye, she lifted the gun and took aim.
BANG!
The man slumped to the ground instantly. The rest of the gang gasped in horror. They could see the bullet hole perfectly centred in the middle of the man's forehead.
A clean, professional shot.
BANG.
She fired again. Another man fell, the bullet striking the exact same position as the first.
"I told you, I am not a naive girl. This gun has more than enough bullets to finish the rest of you. Don't make me do it." Yu Qi said, her fingers idly playing with the weapon as if it were a toy.
The gang was paralysed with fright. To them, she was no longer a girl. She was a devil in human skin. The leader deeply regretted ever provoking this demonic young woman.
"Please, forgive us! It wasn't our intention! It was the Wang family. They were the ones who told us you had a lot of money and were just a helpless orphan!" The leader cried, kowtowing repeatedly until his forehead hit the floor. "We made a deal. I was supposed to sell you, and we would split the money fifty-fifty. Please, just don't kill us!"
The two remaining henchmen scrambled to follow their leader's lead, kowtowing frantically.
"So, the Wang Family really wants to destroy me that badly..." Yu Qi mused.
The gang trembled at the sound of her voice. To their ears, it sounded like a decree from the depths of hell.
"FREEZE! Put the weapon down!" A booming voice suddenly shattered the tension.
Yu Qi turned, surprised to see the man who had shouted. It was Long Hui. 'What on earth is he doing here?' She wondered.
A group of heavily armed men quickly surrounded Yu Qi and the remaining gang members.
"Miss, put the gun down. You are safe now." One of the soldiers said, stepping toward Yu Qi.
Yu Qi complied immediately, placing the gun carefully on the dusty floor. One of the men moved in to seize the weapon and clear the chamber.
"Thank you, sir! Yes, we're safe! We are finally safe!" The gang leader and his followers cried out, suddenly kowtowing to the soldiers as if they were their saviours rather than their captors.
Yu Qi and the soldiers were momentarily flabbergasted by the sight of criminals being happy to be arrested. Long Hui's gaze locked onto Yu Qi, who immediately shifted her expression into one of wide-eyed innocence.
"Take them to the police station. Charge them with kidnapping and organised crime." Long Hui ordered his team sternly.
"Thank you, sir! Thank you!" The leader and his men continued to blabber, clearly preferring a prison cell over facing Yu Qi's wrath.
Meanwhile, other members of the team were checking the men on the floor.
"All of them are dead." One reported.
"Two were killed by exceptionally clean headshots. The other two have also expired, but we can't immediately determine the cause of death. However, we did find two acupuncture needles embedded in their hands." The soldier explained to Long Hui.
"Oh... those were my needles. I only used them to make those men unconscious. Wait! Are you telling me they died? That's impossible!" Yu Qi gasped, her acting performance perfectly pitched.
"Ah... I almost forgot about my boss!" Yu Qi cried out, suddenly remembering the situation.
She ran toward the room where Madam Sheng was being held. Long Hui and two of his men followed close behind her.
"I'll call for a medic!" One of the soldiers shouted upon seeing Madam Sheng's slumped form.
Yu Qi rushed to Madam Sheng's side and pulled out her acupuncture kit. Selecting a few fine needles, she deftly inserted them into specific points on Madam Sheng's wrist and temple.
Almost immediately, Madam Sheng's eyes fluttered open. The moment she regained consciousness and saw Yu Qi, she reached out and grabbed the girl's arm.
"Yu Qi! Are you okay? Did they hurt you?" Madam Sheng asked in a worried tone.
"I'm perfectly fine, Boss. Don't worry." Yu Qi replied with a gentle, reassuring smile. "You're the one we should be worried about right now."
The soldiers who witnessed Yu Qi's medical skill were fascinated. They saw a girl who was not only young and beautiful but clearly possessed an outstanding, almost miraculous knowledge of acupuncture. It was no wonder their leader had been so focused on finding her. Any man would be shaken to find out such a remarkable girl was in danger.
