After having dinner with Grandpa Tang and Uncle Song, Yu Qi went upstairs to her room. She told Grandpa Tang that she would be doing her homework, so she did not want to be disturbed.
In reality, she wanted to enter her space. She planned to finalise the proposal that she intended to show to Old Man Feng. In the blink of an eye, she entered her space. Bo Ya was excited to see her again.
"Master."
"It feels nice to come here. The air is much fresher than outside. The outside air is too polluted." Yu Qi said as she took a deep breath.
"Indeed. The outside air cannot compare to this space. So, Master, do you want to follow your usual routine?" Bo Ya asked.
"Yes, but I want to shorten the duration today. I need to prepare and complete my proposal." Yu Qi stated.
"Oh, sure. You can take your time." Bo Ya nodded.
Yu Qi entered the Pagoda. As usual, she spent time studying herbs and medicine, as well as training in martial arts and shooting, about two hours for each. After that, she took a short break of around fifteen minutes before starting to finalise her proposal.
She went into a room on the first floor of the Pagoda. The room was equipped with a computer, allowing her to search for more information about ryokan designs. Although she already had a design in mind, she wanted to refine and improve it further.
There were many designs that caught Yu Qi's interest. She carefully examined them, making small adjustments to her own design. As she was focused on her work, Bo Ya approached her. He seemed to be holding something.
"Master, look at what I found." Bo Ya said as he showed her what he had brought.
Yu Qi paused her work and looked at it. At first glance, she did not find anything unusual. It was just a dog… no, more precisely, a small puppy.
"Master, this is your space. Don't you remember? How could something like this appear here?" Bo Ya reminded her.
Only then did Yu Qi realise the issue. They were inside her space. There should not be any living creatures here except Bo Ya. Of course, that did not include the simulated beings within the Pagoda used for her training.
Yu Qi knelt down and gently picked up the puppy. She quickly recognised it as a Siberian Husky. The puppy slowly opened its eyes and looked directly at her. Its beautiful blue eyes instantly captivated her. She immediately felt the urge to keep it.
"Master?" Bo Ya called out when he noticed Yu Qi had gone quiet.
"How did this puppy appear in this space?" Yu Qi asked.
"I'm not sure. I found it while wandering near the lake." Bo Ya answered.
"The lake? Maybe that lake is somehow connected to the outside world?" Yu Qi guessed.
"I don't know, Master. But it might be possible." Bo Ya stated.
Yu Qi thought for a moment before speaking again. "Bo Ya, I want to keep this puppy. Can I?"
"That decision is up to you, Master." Bo Ya said.
"Alright then. I'll keep it. Hmm… what should I name you? Ah, I know. Your name will be Aoi." Yu Qi lifted the puppy and kissed it gently.
She had actually put some thought into the name. "Aoi" meant blue in Japanese, which suited the puppy's striking blue eyes perfectly.
Aoi seemed to understand her. It licked Yu Qi's face with its tiny tongue, making her laugh happily. She hugged the little puppy while humming softly. Suddenly, she felt a sharp but brief pain in her hand.
"Ouch," Y Qi exclaimed.
"Master, what happened?" Bo Ya asked anxiously when he heard Yu Qi's voice.
"Aoi bit me." Yu Qi replied.
She looked at the spot where Aoi had bitten her. A strange mark had appeared on the back of her hand. She examined it carefully, feeling puzzled. Why had this mark appeared right after the bite?
"Master, that is a blood contract." Bo Ya explained when he saw the mark. "This puppy has formed a blood contract with you."
"A blood contract? What does that mean?" Yu Qi asked.
"It means you and Aoi are now connected as master and beast. You can summon him to your side wherever you are. However, if you die, he will die as well. It is different from the contract between you and me." Bo Ya explained.
"Eh? Do we also have a contract?" Yu Qi asked in surprise.
"Yes, we do. But it is slightly different. You can only summon me within this space, and I will not die even if you do." Bo Ya explained more.
"Oh, I see. So that means I can bring Aoi out of this space as well, right?" Yu Qi confirmed.
"Yes, that is correct." Bo Ya nodded.
"Aoi, wait. Let me check your gender." Yu Qi said as she examined the puppy. "Oh, you're a male. Aoi, my cute little dog."
She hugged and kissed him again affectionately.
Bo Ya watched the scene and suddenly felt a bit envious. "Master… do you hate me now?"
Yu Qi, who had been smiling, was stunned by his words. She immediately knelt down, placing Aoi gently on the ground before turning to face Bo Ya.
"Bo Ya, why would you say that?" Yu Qi asked.
"Master, you already have someone else now…" Bo Ya's voice sounded a little sad at the moment.
"Aoi is Aoi, and Bo Ya is Bo Ya. You are not the same. I like both of you. You are my family now." Yu Qi said gently as she patted his head.
"Then… can Master hug and kiss me as you did with Aoi?" Bo Ya asked, looking at her with pleading eyes.
Yu Qi laughed softly. She hugged Bo Ya and lifted him up, then placed a kiss on each of his cheeks.
Bo Ya immediately broke into a bright smile as he looked at her.
