They followed slower behind him, "I'm liking the new look." Daiki said.
"I figured you would," Sakura grinned at him, "I put in a lot of work while you were gone you know. Trained harder than I ever have before."
His eyes drifted to her legs for a moment before nodding, "It shows," Daiki nodded, "I'm actually impressed."
"Actually, that came about really quickly," Sakura giggled, pointing at her thighs, "I was training a lot with the shunshin you taught me, since I couldn't just train my arms alone for the shock wave fist, and I was really hungry with all the training, and these kinda just happened." she gave her thigh a squeeze to punctuate.
"You won't see me complaining." Daiki nodded once more, this time, sagely.
She snorted, "Again, I'm not surprised. Some girls are naturally top heavy like Ino and Hinata, I'm apparently bottom heavy, and these days, I'm okay with that," the pink haired girl said, "But that's not all, thanks to you telling me where Kakashi and Sasuke were, I went over there and got him to teach me some jutsu."
Daiki froze on the spot, jaw dropping, "…Kakashi actually taught you jutsu?" he gaped, "Kakashi? Hatake Kakashi? Copy Ninja Kakashi? Eternally late Kakashi? Kakashi the virgin? Kakashi….Kakashi?"
Sakura outright laughed, "Yeah, the same one," she replied, "Honestly, he couldn't say no, especially when I literally walked in on him in the process of teaching Sasuke-kun his signature technique, that screechy scary lightning one."
"Chidori." he helpfully supplied.
"That's the one," Sakura clicked her fingers, "Well, I say got him to teach me jutsu, but I actually just got my elemental affinity tested by him. And some instructions and had to train myself because he couldn't focus on more than one student when he's preparing Sasuke-kun to fight that terrifying Gaara guy."
…Kakashi knew the shadow clone jutsu though. He was just a lazy cunt through and through. Even in the original timeline that didn't make sense. He knew Naruto was fighting Neji who had literally tried to kill his own family, and who was by far the strongest genin around at that point in the tournament barring Gaara. Kakashi was just a shit teacher in general, and definitely played favourites with Sasuke.
Probably something to do with that absolute chud Obito. God Obito was pathetic. Compared to everyone else who had a literal tragic back story, like Kakashi himself, Naruto, and a bunch more people like Nagato whom it was understandable they had absolute crash outs…the only 'tragedy' Obito ever dealt with, was Rin dying. One girl…and he decided, fuck the world it needed to burn?
Hell the loser didn't even give a shit about his own grandmother dying while he was laying cripple in Madara's weed den.
'If it makes you feel better, while I wasn't part of Rin for long, I did learn quite a bit about her, and she had zero romantic feelings for Obito Uchiha,' Isobu helpfully supplied, 'She saw him, more as a brother-like figure. Like many girls her age, she was vastly more attracted to Kakashi because of his skill, strength, looks and…simply not being a goofy clown.'
He was a clown wasn't he? And you know what, that did make him feel better. Knowing that dead or alive, he was never tapping that.
"Colour me surprised, I had to blackmail and bribe him to get anything out of him." Daiki snorted.
"Still more than he's taught me or Naruto," Sakura huffed, "But yes, apparently I've got an affinity for the water style, and managed to learn the two jutsu he gave me instructions for."
"Nice," Daiki flashed her a thumbs up, "I actually know a bunch of water jutsu, I'll help you out if you want later to get some more down."
She brightened, smiling wide, "Really? That'd be awesome Daiki-kun, thank you," Sakura said, and surprised him, by leaning over and kissing him on the cheek, "Honestly, I really do need to do something nice for you to make all this up to you Daiki-kun, you've done so much for me since the these exams started, I'm like a completely different kunoichi now thanks to you."
"Don't worry about it, I'm not helping you out because I want anything in return." he replied truthfully. Sakura did have the potential to become a medic on the same level as Tsunade, if not surpassing her. She would be valuable to have on his side in the future and as one of his subordinates as the Hokage.
"There I was thinking you were just hoping to get me in your bed." she pointed out cheekily.
"I am," he shrugged, "But I'm not trying to bribe you into my bed or make you think you need to just because I'm helping you out. When you get into my bed, it'll cuz you want to be there. Which reminds me." Lifting his hand, Daiki extended a single finger and touched it to forehead.
Sakura blinked, "What are you….?" she trailed off, and stopped as his finger lit up with chakra as he inscribed a seal on her forehead she wouldn't get until much later, originally.
A second later, the byakugou seal formed as a small purple diamond like marking atop her forehead.
"Is that another seal?" Sakura squinted her eyes as she tried to look up, before looking back at him.
"Yep, a pretty special one at that," Daiki grinned as he dropped his hand, "It's called the Strength of a Hundred seal. The way it works is, when you have days where you're not training or going on missions, you store your chakra inside it, and it works as a battery for you to fill up with your chakra to draw on whenever you need it. But beyond that, when you activate it in full, it'll use all that chakra stored up, to enhance your physical abilities and even your jutsu. I yoinked it from Tsunade, it's one of her signature abilities."
Sakura gaped at him, jaw dropping, "As in Senju? One of the legendary Sannin?" she spluttered, "Did you just give a Sannin's personal technique? She's not gonna come kill me or something right?"
"Nah don't worry about it," he waved her off, "You're fine."
Sakura stared at him for a moment, before sighing and shaking her head, a rueful smile appearing on her face, "You know, you really ought to be careful Daiki-kun," she said, simply, before leaning in and pressing another kiss to his cheek, this one, right on the side of his lips, and pulling back, cheeks flushed, "One of these days, it'll be one in the same you know?" she said, giving him a wink.
…What?
They parted ways soon after, with Daiki actually quite confused as he made his way out into the massive colosseum like ring, noting he was one of the last to arrive.
Besides Sasuke, and that stretchy guy.
'Well that sucks.' he thought, he'd been hoping to ransack that guys mind to try and see if he could learn about his rubber body technique.
He was however taken by surprise when he took in the full line up of the others lined up behind the hateful Genma.
'I'll unpack that later.' he thought, ignoring Genma for now. Eyes roaming over the line up of Neji, Naruto, Shikamaru, Hinata, Gaara and Temari.
He, Naruto, Tenten and Sakura weren't the only ones with wardrobe upgrades apparently. His eyes taking in Temari first She'd switched her pink dress out for a blue skirt, and short sleeve purple wide necked top showing off mesh armour underneath, with red wrappings around her waist, and a harness of the same style around her shoulders and torso holding her war fan.
Which made sense he supposed, Daiki had after all, ripped her dress in their last encounter. The most surprising however, was Hinata.
She was mostly dressed the same as he remembered, except she'd switched out the corset she'd been wearing before for for a larger one, yet with deeper cups that her massive breasts were almost bursting out of, probably would be if not for the mesh armour she was wearing underneath it that went up to her neck. Her forearms were covered in mesh armour, and she'd changed out the black baggy pants she was wearing before, with a pair of navy mid-thigh length shorts, that left her shapely, plump toned thighs in full view.
She caught him looking as he walked over and gave him a bright smile. He nodded, grinning back, 'She's really taken her confidence and surety in herself to an all new level.' he thought, impressed.
He walked over to the front of the line, standing next to Naruto, catching Genma grimacing as he walked past without saying a single thing to him or greeting him.
….Wait.
'Where is Hayate?' Daiki blinked. There was no way that went down the same way as it had before right? Shit, he'd totally forgotten about that!
Fuck!
His eyes drifted up to the stands, searching out his target, clad in the attire of a Suna jonin, with turban-like headgear and a veil over one side of his face. Baki.
'Have I already failed to live up to my boasts?' he thought. He'd declared he'd not let a single member of konoha die during the invasion. And yet, he'd failed before it even began?
After all his preparations, all the work put in, everything, couldn't believe he'd gone and forgot all about something like that!
He forced himself to calm down before he started leaking killing intent. 'I'll find out later, no point in getting worked up about it right now. Besides, maybe his illness just flared up, or the old man decided it wasn't in our best interest to have a guy constantly coughing hosting an international event.' he coped.
But if Baki had killed him? Then he would have to die. All those who bared their fangs at his village at his people, simply did not deserve to live. And they would die.
