Sasuke's appearance, was met with a massive roar from the crowd. The famous last Uchiha had arrived after all.

'If I remember right, most of the foreigners actually came to see him fight.' Daiki snorted inwardly. He looked up at the stands, and had to marvel slightly at the sheer size of the stadium and stands.

The circular colosseum like arena he stood in, was a whole lot bigger than it seemed on a manga page or through a screen. Perfectly spherical in shape, and a hundred and fifty metres wide in all directions.

Plenty of space usually for most genin to go all out.

And up above the arena itself, were three towering stand buildings. Each one capable of sitting over a thousand people. And they were fit to burst. There were over three thousand people watching them from above. And that wasn't getting into the screens spread throughout the stands and all across the village itself, with camera's broadcasting images from inside the arena itself for closer looks, and for those who could not make it to the arena.

The chunin exams really were a spectator sport. 'That's a good idea actually.' he thought. He could make a sport out of ninja fights, like MMA tournaments. Not only would it allow his soldiers to fight and gain experience against each other more on the regular, it would incite them to get stronger. And once it became popular, it would work as a recruitment ad to make more people want to join as ninja.

A win, win, win!

It wasn't long later, before the Kazekage arrived at the alcove above the three stadium stands where the Hokage sat above all like an emperor who loomed over the mortals below. Or, at least the snake faced moron pretending to be the Kazekage.

He noticed Gaara and his siblings noticeably tense as he arrived. Gaara in particular, who was impassive up until now, was glaring bloody murder at his thought to be father.

'I wonder if he'd be amused at the fact I'm using his dad as puppet soldier?' Daiki wondered with a silent laugh.

He activated his eyes, peering up at the Hokage box where the Kazekage took a seat next to him, and listened him, drowning out the excitement of the crowd.

"Kazekage-dono, it's good to see you again," the old man greeted him warmly, like a beloved ally, "I hope you are not too tired from your long journey."

Long journey? Did the old man know how condescending that was when any jonin could cross that distance in less than an hour? He hoped he did.

"Oh no I'm happy to make the journey old friend," Rasamaru chuckled good naturedly, "Though I suppose in this case it's a good thing the exams were held here in your village instead of our own. With your advanced years, it might have been a lot rougher on you. Have you put much thought into a successor?"

The snide polite tone almost made Daiki bristle. Because, the way the old man laughed, made him think that was really in character for Rasa. The absolute mongrel. If Rasa had the gall to dare say something like that, to the Hokage, in his own village, then Daiki was all the happier to have made him his undead zombie slave.

"Oh there's some that show potential, but I'll keep that to myself for now, after all, I aim to be ruling for another good five years at least," Sarutobi chortled, before pushing up off of his throne like chair, "Now then, it's about time we get started, no?" he said, as he walked over to the railing and overlooked all below him.

"Ahem," the old man coughed lightly into his hand, and Daiki saw as he lined his throat with chakra, projecting his voice, "Ladies and gentlemen, our esteemed guests, welcome! You have my most sincere and heartfelt thanks for gathering here today in Konohagakure for the chunin selection exams!"

His voice boomed powerfully, yet not oppressively, there was a warmness to his tone that belied the sheer power in his voice. Daiki took notes, "Of course you are not here to listen to an old man ramble, so I won't dither on for long, in fact, let us get straight to the action," he chuckled, "We will now begin the matches of the final round, between the eight candidates left standing and advanced beyond preliminaries. Please, sit back, enjoy and watch as they battle with all their heart and show you their strength!"

And, as he finished and turned away walking back to his throne like chair, the main screen above them lit up, displaying the matches of the first round of the finals.

Neji Hyuuga vs Daiki Yurei

Sasuke Uchiha vs Gaara

Naruto Uzumaki vs Shikamaru Nara

Hinata Hyuuga vs Temari

Daiki blinked, 'Ooooh.' he thought in realisation. That was why Neji spouted that bullshit when he sought out Tenten and came across them training.

That made sense he supposed.

In that case-

He made a hand seal behind his back, eyes flaring, 'Shadow Clone Jutsu!' he thought, summoning a clone that disappeared in a blur of speed, silenced and moving faster than any of the others beside him could react to and see barring maybe Sasuke with his sharingan.

He knew there was a betting station up in the stands where all the nobles were. And he had four million ryo left over.

He was going to clear out those foreign mongrels of all their cash.

"Listen up all of you," Genma turned to face them then, looking over them all, and nodding, "The stage might be different, but just like the prelims, there are no rules here. You fight until one admits defeat, I decide when one party is clearly unable to continue, or to be blunt, you die."

He looked each and every one of them in the eye as he said that, "I will be doing my level best to stop any matches before they get to that point, but I will not stop any of you from coming at your opponent with the intent to kill."

Daiki cast a glance over the line up, and was actually impressed when not a single one of his leaf comrades flinched or reacted at all to the news. They were truly locked in, and had come to understand how serious this was after the prelims. Before, when such a topic came up, Naruto had been vocally emotional.

Genma nodded approvingly, "Alright then," he said, "Then match one is Neji Hyuuga vs Daiki Yurei, the rest of you head up to the waiting room." he ordered, pointing an opening at the far right that led up to an alcove in the arena overlooking the colosseum.
