_______________
"You know what, it's a bit early, and I was gonna tell the Hyuuga kid off for trying to tell me to move it along…but yeah, let's just get this shit started," the hateful Genma groaned, he raised a hand, "Match one, begin!" he brought his hand down.
And Neji blurred.
He blitzed forward, a blur of speed that closed the distance in the blink of an eye, faster than Rock Lee without his weights had been.
In a single breath he was upon Daiki, two fingers thrust out burning for chakra, aimed right for the tenketsu over his heart.
And stopped cold in their tracks as Daiki caught the strike between his thumb and pointer finger, while scratching the back of his head with other hand and giving a yawn, "You're actually faster than I thought you were." he praised.
"Byakugan!" Neji bit out, veins flaring to life and his eyes becoming more pronounced, as he lashed out with two fingers from his other hand, aimed at the tenketsu of Daiki's throat.
Daiki weaved under it with a simple tilt of his head, and leaned down rolling his shoulder and gave a back elbow straight to Neji's face. He quickly diverted his strike, to bring his palm up to block, but the sheer force of his elbow, for the all casualness he displayed, would have sent him skidding back, if not for the grip on Neji's fingers.
As it was, it still knocked him off his feet, and Daiki gave his fingers a jerk, and let go, putting him off balance mid-air, as he turned-
And lashed out with two fingers and jabbed them into the pressure point above his right shoulder, and opened his palm right after, darkness spiralling into existence, "Darkness Force Palm." Daiki said simply, unleashing a staggered twin shock wave blast, layering over each other, one of pure chakra enhanced force, and second staggered behind it, a black shockwave of denser, more powerful chakra.
It was a testament to his skill and potential, as Neji reacted quick enough even as his right arm went limp, to expel chakra from his tenketsu and force himself into a half spin mid-air, "Kaiten!"
It was only half formed, but it saved him as the double layered shock wave of light and darkness slammed into him and carried him off over fifty feet. He landed as he came out of his spin, on one knee, blood trickling from his lips and clutching at the shoulder he'd just struck the pressure point of, "You…are you mocking the Hyuuga even now?" Neji panted out, "You struck my pressure point, and that shock wave, it was just like the Vacuum Palm."
"Nah, my Darkness Force Palm is way stronger," Daiki shrugged, smirking at him, before bringing his hands together and clapping, "Well done though, that was impressive. The speed of a jonin you have my friend, and on top of that, you managed to block my jutsu, if only barely. I killed multiple chunin, and even a Jonin with that technique when it was much weaker than it is now. The Kaiten really is something." even if he had been holding back, that was still something.
"And yet how condescending that sounds coming from your lips, and how mocking those claps sound," Neji stood up, wiping the blood from his lips, before jabbing two fingers into his shoulder, and then moving his right arm, now free of the paralysis he'd struck it with easily, "I am reluctantly impressed one as loud and braggart like as yourself, has learned something as subtle and difficult as striking pressure points, alas for you, it is useless. Before the gentle fist, even striking pressure points is rendered useless."
Daiki shrugged, "You're one to talk about someone being condescending the way you just said that, besides not like using pressure points is my main fighting style, I just picked it up over the last month."
Neji scoffed, "you expect me to believe you just picked it up in the last month? As if something that advanced can be learned so quickly," he replied as he began to walk and circle around him, "Where did you even pick up such a thing up from?"
"I went on a walk." Daiki gave him a lazy smile, "A very nice, enthusiastic walk. There were ancient flying fortresses, evil demons, and lots of sand. You shoulda been there, it was epic."
"If you didn't want to say, you should have just said so instead of talking such nonsense!" Neji huffed as he moved, rushing him once again, "I'm going all out this time!" he declared, exploding forward with a shunshin.
Smart of him, with the Byakugan he didn't need to worry about the tunnel vision that came with it.
As it was-
He was still far too slow. After all, right now? Daiki wasn't wearing any weights at all. To him, Neji might have been moving at the speed of a jonin enhanced with the shunshin, but to his gaze, without his eyes activated at all.
It was like he was moving in slow motion.
Daiki tilted his head back avoiding a strike aimed at his temple, before sliding his feet and weaving around a flurry of blinding tenketsu closing strikes, and then bringing his left forearm up to block as Neji exploded above kicking up dirt from the ground to obscure his vision, and lashed out with an axe kick aimed at his shoulder.
Each blow he shot towards him, unleashed a wave of chakra that would stagger any normal opponent just in the after shock, but they may as well have been a stiff breeze for all Daiki felt them.
"How are you so fast?" Neji ground out, kicking off his arm and flipping to land in a low stance, arms spread wide and defensively, ready to jerk into an attack or the Kaiten at any moment.
A nice, good smart defensive stance.
"I work out." Daiki shrugged.
"Be serious here!" Neji bit out, losing his temper.
Daiki huffed a small snorting laugh, "You don't have the ability to make me be serious," he said before shrugging, "Alright fine I suppose. Let's say this. Your teammate Lee, in the prelims, those weights he took off from his legs, were around twenty tons each. The weights I use? Are over two hundred tons now, and I wear them on every limb, not just my legs. You're a little bit faster than Lee, but you're nowhere near close to my speed."
"Two hundred tons?" Neji gaped, before shaking his head, "Impressive, I do admit, but it matters not, for you are within my range."
And then he moved, chakra burning atop his fingers.
"Two palms!" Neji attacked with all his might and speed-
And the opening salvo, was blocked head on as Daiki mirrored his movements, and blocked his twin tenketsu closing attack with both two fingers of each hand, "Why do you guys call it palms?" he asked casually.
"Four palms!" Neji snarled as he sped up, arms blurring like machine gun bullets, "Eight palms!"
"No seriously," Daiki asked as he casually mirrored, matched and blocked each and every strike, without moving a single step, "Why? You're using your finger tips, not your palms."
"Sixteen palms!" Neji ignored him and pressed on, "Thirty two palms!" he roared, losing composure, chakra pouring from his strikes in waves, "Eight Trigrams Sixty Four Palms!"
As his strikes came to a close, it was to him being finger point to finger point with Daiki, panting deeply, "How…this is impossible…" Neji stared at him in disbelief, and horror.
"Not for me," Daiki said smugly, "Now then, you did good Neji, real good. But, now it's my turn." as soon as he said that.
He was just gone and Neji stumbled a bit as he weight pressed against him, mirroring him perfectly, was missing.
And then something slammed into his back, driving the wind from his lungs. He was almost bullied straight into the ground-
Only something struck him in the stomach, so fast he couldn't see even a blur, forcing him back up.
His cheek was struck and he saw stars, the sheer force sending him spinning like a spinning top. And then, he couldn't breathe as he felt an arm slam into his throat.
And he hit the ground, stunned, unable to breathe and gagging in pain. He forced chakra on instinct to clear his airways, but just as he did, a foot slammed into his stomach, and the ground gave way beneath him, cracking and splintering as a massive crater formed and Neji contorted around what he barely made out, as a foot.
Looking up through blearily eyes, to see his opponent casually resting his foot atop his stomach. 'I….I didn't…even see him move.' Neji thought in horror.
Was there really such a massive gap between them?
"Now then," Daiki smirked at him, and reached down. Neji tensed, expecting a finishing blow…yet instead, Daiki simply pulled off his headband, "So that's the Cage Bird Seal huh?"
"You…!" Neji gargled, glaring with whatever he had left over. Feebly grabbing at his foot and trying to push up, only to gad as Daiki simply pushed down harder, and the crater beneath him widened, splinters of debris flying into the air.
"This is thing is trash, barely adept level crap," Daiki scoffed and held out two fingers, chakra igniting over them, and bent over, touching it to Neji's forehead, "Fuin - Release!"
And he felt it. The seal had been so tightly wound to his being since he was a toddler, it had been there so long, it had felt like a part of him.
And so, he felt it instinctively as the seal broke and shattered, fading away as if it were never there to begin with.
'So….easily….' Neji thought distantly, so many thoughts and feelings rushing through him, unable to process them as darkness enroached upon his vision, and he lost.
Falling unconscious.
His last thought being, '…Perhaps he truly was not lying about becoming the next Hokage.'
