Waiting aimlessly is not a solution. There's no knowing when a car might pass by. Instead of leaving one person waiting for a car, one can take the small path to the highway; it takes about two hours by the main road, but only an hour by the small path.
So, Quinn Leroy split into two groups, leaving the staff member behind, while he carried Renee Langdon off the car and headed towards the highway by the small path.
Carrying her for over ten minutes, Renee noticed Quinn was getting tired.
Thinking she couldn't let him carry her the whole time and that she needed to try, she gently said, "Quinn Leroy, you can put me down, I want to walk a bit myself."
"Can you walk?" Quinn asked, turning back, but didn't stop walking.
"Yes, I feel quite energetic now, but my legs are a little numb, and I feel quite uncomfortable. Walking might feel better." Renee said with a smile.
Quinn gently set her down.
