"Regirock. Gender: None. Ability: Sturdy. Height: 14'08. Weight: 2428 pounds. Attacks Known: Iron Defence, Zap Cannon, Explosion, Sandstorm, Lock On, Hyper Beam, Focus Punch, Ancient Power, Shock Wave, Stone Edge, Earthquake, Hammer Arm, Superpower, Rock Slide, Fire Punch, Ice Punch, Meteor Beam, Drain Punch. Data indicates, that much like Regice, Regirock is proficient in both long range and close range combat, but considering the multitude of fist style attacks, it may prefer close range combat."
Sitting down on a chair an hour or so after catching Regirock, within my campsite for the night, all of my pokemon out and about throughout the clearing, I stared down at Rotom Gauntlet as it detailed my newest pokemon's abilities.
'There's a lot of overlap.' I thought, leaning back and looking up, meeting the duo of gazes of both Regice and Regirock standing silently before me, not moving a muscle-
Not that they really had muscles but the point stood.
Like Regice, Regirock instantly obeyed any command I gave it, and was much the same in personality.
That being a lack there of.
As expected.
But yes, there was a lot of overlap between their attacks. Zap Cannon and Lock On for instance. And Hyper Beam, Earthquake, Hammer Arm and such.
Not to mention Explosion.
I suppose it made sense that the Regi's would have some attack overlap, considering they would have spent an excessive amount of time battling side by side before they got put to guard that oaf's treasures.
The twat.
Though interestingly, while Regice was about a half a foot taller than Regirock, Regirock had a good three hundred pounds on the ice golem.
I suppose that's because rock is more dense than ice.
I sighed, shaking my head and clenched my hand letting Rotom know to compress into his bracelet form and free my hand.
'I do like they both have Explosion though, and so will Registeel most likely.' my lips quirked up in a half smirk.
Explosion was fucking amazing.
Not only was it absurdly powerful, but it was an attack that outright ignored a lot of the targets durability. How? I have no idea, even Rotom couldn't explain it to me with his access to the internet and many a database.
I'm not going to complain though. Who would? Not to mention it was basically the ultimate fail safe.
There isn't many things out there that could shake off three Regi's exploding in their face as a group and nuking them to hell.
Five if Regidrago and Regieleki know it as well, and if they don't, I'll just teach them it. Five legendary explosions to the face. Then Golem and Exeggutor following up or with them? It would take a real monster to stay up.
What the fuck boom indeed.
Standing up, I stretched out my arms and wiggled the fingers on my right hand feeling the cool breeze on my now free fingers with Rotom in bracelet mode, and walked over to stand in front of the pair of Regi's, directly in front of Regirock and looked up into its dulled orange dotted gaze.
Charizard who had been laying down behind my chair stirred, tensing a bit I could see in my peripherals, and rolled my eyes fondly.
And I could feel Pidgeot's gaze burning into my back from where he was roosting up above in a large tree, and Milotic who was resting alongside Gyarados in a large pond I'd set up camp beside, didn't raise her head from where it lay on the bank of the pond, but her eyes did open and stare sharply.
Gyarados on the other hand, roused slightly sensing her change, before promptly scoffing through his massive mouth and closing his eyes and going to sleep. And Blastoise who was lazily floating in the pond, didn't even bat an eye.
The reactions of my pokemon were a mixed bag like that.
Tyranitar though who was lazily laying on his side leaning against a huge rock, just looked confused.
'Such worry warts.' I resisted the urge to snort as I reached up and pat Regirock's lower stomach, "Alright big guy?" I asked.
"Un." was the only sound Regirock made in response, a slight incline of its head, but that was all.
A rock of few words.
"I'm Jord," I just grinned, not bothered, "I'm your new trainer now, so good to meet you. Welcome to this big crazy family of ours. Let's get along alright mate?"
"Un." Regirock simply nodded again, while Regice looked on blankly.
These silly things.
"Feel free to do your own thing outside of training," I gestured at the expansive camp and the dozens of pokemon all around us, "And if you need anything, just come to me and let me know yeah?"
Regirock stared at me blankly for a moment, before turning its great rocky head and looking at Regice, "Un! Un! Un?" its orange eyes flashed golden.
Regirock…asked something?
"Dododon!" Regice's own eyes lit up with a golden hue and it nodded its big icy pillar spike of a head in reponse.
"Rotom?" I prompted.
"Regirock is asking Regice what you mean, it does not understand being given leave to do as it pleases, it does not even have anything it wants to do," Rotom translated, "Regice is confirming your words and explaining while it does not truly understand either, you are far different from their old master."
…Huh.
Well, that was helpful I guess. I waited as Regirock finally turned back around, and slowly dipped down to take a knee, bowing its rocky spire of a head, "Regiiiirock." it intoned, all six eyes flashing gold.
I didn't need to have Rotom translate that. I got the general gist at least, "Good to have you alongside me mate." I grinned, patting it fondly on the torso once more, smiling as brightly as I could and showing none of my simmering rage.
