Shen Yaojia cried for several minutes, while Alex stood beside her without saying anything. He wasn't able to.
All he could do was wait for her to speak again.
"Thank you," she said finally. "Thank you for telling me all of this. Thank you for healing my master, so he was no longer the monster I had made him out to be."
Alex nodded.
"I had always believed Godslayer to be a sword he had created that had ended up biting him back. That it was his Creation that had killed him," she said.
"It wasn't," Alex said. "The story there… it's much worse."
The woman paused for a second, turning toward him. "What is the story?" she asked.
Alex thought for a second and explained everything to her. He didn't see any part that wasn't relevant to the conversation, so he hid nothing. He told her about the Death God's weapon, the remaining metal that he kept afterward, and how a Death sage had duped him into creating the weapon.
