Fei Chen's expression remained gentle as he gestured for her to proceed.
"Miss Su Ye, please."
Su Ye didn't head to the second floor. Instead, she motioned for Fei Chen to follow her to a corner, out of sight.
In the dim corner, her expression was hidden, but her voice was clear as she spoke.
"I came with a friend, so I won't be going up just yet."
Fei Chen said,
"Miss Su, you may invite your friend to join you."
'After all, I've met her friend before.'
Su Ye slowly placed a hand over her abdomen, covering the bloodstain that had seeped through the gauze and soaked her clothes.
Her voice was steady, betraying nothing.
"You must be here on important business, so I won't get in the way. I'll head back to the Prince Mansion as soon as the auction is over."
Once she finished, Fei Chen saw that her mind was made up and didn't press the matter.
He replied in a gentle voice,
"Very well."
After Su Ye had gone, Fei Chen made his way to the second floor, one step at a time.
