**Lord Elandor's Log, Supplemental**
**Shire Valley – Diplomatic Housing**

**Old crowns walk new streets.**
**Some silences speak louder than words.**
The convoy passed through the wide gates of the Entry Complex and onto the main road. The black VIP SUVs moved with smooth, silent precision, their electric drive systems producing only a low, steady hum. Behind them, the HAS-V-A1s held disciplined spacing while the cargo 10x10s followed at a measured distance.
Inside the lead vehicle, Captain Elena Korrin sat in the front passenger seat, turned slightly toward King Aldric and Kitsune. "We're taking the scenic route into the city, Your Majesty," she said. "It's longer, but it gives a clearer sense of what we've built here. On your left, you'll soon see the Spaceport. Most of our heavy lift capacity operates from there." King Aldric watched the landscape unfold. "Your people have reshaped the land with remarkable speed."
"We didn't have the luxury of time when we first arrived," Korrin replied. "But we're trying to build something that can endure." As the convoy crested a gentle rise, the Spaceport came into view on the left — wide landing pads, large hangars, and support structures. Several heavy shuttles rested on the pads while ground crews moved with quiet efficiency.
In the second vehicle, King Brokk leaned toward the window. "Those shuttles could carry more in one flight than a dwarven supply column could manage in a week," he said to Master Harlan Stonevein. "They can," Stonevein confirmed. "And they don't need rest or forage." Further back, in Princess Elowen's SUV, Ambassador Saelira Moonwhisper spoke softly. "The Spaceport has become the backbone of our logistics. It has changed how quickly we can move people and supplies across the valley."
Princess Elowen watched the facility with quiet intensity, her hands clasped tightly in her lap. In Lord Elandor's vehicle, Commander Veyra Stoneclaw remained mostly silent at first. When the convoy turned onto the wide main boulevard leading toward the city center, she finally spoke. "The police presence will increase once we enter the denser parts of the city. They're here for traffic control and security. You'll notice their lights are active, though they only use the siren sparingly to clear the road."
As if on cue, several sleek civilian police vehicles joined the convoy's flanks. Their red and blue lights pulsed steadily against the buildings, but the sirens remained mostly silent. Only an occasional short, authoritative "woop" sounded to encourage civilian vehicles and pedestrians to move aside. The response was immediate and orderly. Lord Elandor watched the lights reflect across the glass fronts of new buildings. "Your law enforcement appears disciplined."
"They're still learning," Stoneclaw replied. "Many come from our military police background, but we're training local recruits as quickly as we can." The convoy continued down the wide main boulevard. On either side, construction rose alongside more established structures. Wide sidewalks carried a growing number of pedestrians who stopped to watch the procession pass, their faces illuminated by the rhythmic police lights.
In King Aldric's vehicle, Kitsune watched the city with a faint smile. "It grows faster every time I return," she said quietly. King Aldric studied the street life outside. "Your people seem comfortable here." "Many of them are building something they never had before," Kitsune replied. "A place where competence matters more than bloodline. It's not perfect. But it is different."
The convoy eventually reached the Government Plaza. At the center of the broad square, directly in front of the main Government Building, a large ceremonial platform was under construction. Scaffolding framed the structure as workers secured railings and set up rows of formal seating in neat lines. The design was clean and dignified.
King Aldric's gaze lingered on the platform as they passed. "Tomorrow's ceremony?" he asked. "Yes, Your Majesty," Captain Korrin confirmed. "Midday. The platform is being prepared for the formal ratification of the American Republic's founding documents." In the vehicle behind them, King Brokk studied the construction. "They're not hiding what they're building."
"They rarely do," Master Stonevein replied. Further back, Princess Elowen watched the workers with quiet intensity. Ambassador Moonwhisper sat beside her. "They are not concealing their intentions," the elf said softly. "That, at least, is honest." Lord Elandor said nothing in his own vehicle, though his gaze remained on the platform until it passed from view.
The convoy eventually turned into the wide, covered entrance of the Diplomatic Housing building. As the vehicles came to a smooth stop beneath the portico, a small formal party stood waiting.
Captain James Nolan stood slightly behind and to the right of Jasmine Same Roth. Jasmine wore an elegant deep blue gown, her posture composed and regal. To her other side stood Leanne Nolan in a refined charcoal dress. Elias stood beside Nolan in his dress uniform. Behind them, four plain-suited security personnel — former military police from Discovery — stood at quiet attention.
As the doors of the lead vehicles opened, Captain Korrin stepped out first and moved aside. Jasmine Same Roth stepped forward to greet the arriving delegations, her voice clear and warm. "Your Majesties, Your Highness, Lord Elandor," she said, addressing them with measured respect. "Welcome to Shire Valley. I am Jasmine Same Roth, Interim President of the American Republic. We are honored by your presence."
She gestured lightly to the man beside her. "This is Captain James Nolan, commander of the starship *Discovery*. He stands with me in welcoming you." Nolan gave a respectful nod, his voice steady. "Your Majesties. We hope your journey was not too difficult. If there is anything you require during your stay, you have only to ask." King Aldric studied Jasmine for a moment before replying.
"Interim President," he said, the title carefully considered. "You greet us directly. That is noted." Jasmine offered a small, gracious smile. "We felt it was important to welcome you ourselves. This is not merely a diplomatic visit. It is the beginning of a new relationship between our peoples." Kitsune's gaze drifted briefly toward Elias, her expression softening for just a moment before returning to diplomatic composure.
King Brokk stepped forward, his heavy boots sounding against the stone. "Straightforward," he said with a grunt of approval. "I can respect that." Princess Elowen offered a small curtsy, her voice soft but steady. "Thank you for receiving us. The journey has been… enlightening." Lord Elandor remained slightly behind the others, observing quietly. Commander Stoneclaw stood at his side. Jasmine continued, her tone shifting into something more practical while remaining warm.
"We won't keep you standing here long. You've had a long journey. Your suites have been prepared on the upper floors, and staff will see to your immediate needs. We ask only that you settle in and rest this evening. The Ratification Ceremony will take place tomorrow at midday in the Government Plaza. We would be honored by your presence."
She paused, meeting each of their eyes in turn. "If there is anything you require before then, Captain Korrin and the other liaisons will remain at your disposal." Kitsune gave a small nod, her voice smooth. "Thank you, President Roth. We look forward to tomorrow." Jasmine inclined her head in return.
Staff began moving forward to guide each delegation toward the lifts. Captain Korrin remained with King Aldric's group, while the other liaisons stayed close to their assigned delegations. As the groups were escorted inside, Lord Elandor paused beneath the portico, looking back toward the Government Plaza, where the ceremonial platform continued to take shape in the fading light. The valley had welcomed them with order, precision, and quiet power. Tomorrow, it would ask them to witness the birth of something entirely new.
