Puente Antiguo – Clash of Power
"Die, you sinner!"
Sif's voice rang out sharply as she lunged forward, her sword slicing through the air toward Jack with deadly precision. The blade glimmered under the chaotic light of fire and lightning, carrying the strength and skill of an Asgardian warrior.
But before her strike could land—
Jack moved.
Or rather… he didn't even seem to move.
His hand lifted casually.
Clang.
The sword stopped.
Caught.
Held firmly in his grip as if it weighed nothing at all.
Sif's eyes widened instantly.
"How… is that possible?"
Her strength—something that far surpassed ordinary humans—was completely meaningless in front of him.
Jack looked at her calmly, his fingers wrapped around the blade.
"Asgardians…" he said slowly, his tone almost analytical, as if he were explaining a simple fact.
"You were born fortunate."
His eyes narrowed slightly.
"From birth, your physical strength surpasses humans by at least three times."
"Combined with your magic and combat training…"
He tilted his head slightly.
"You stand at the top of the Nine Realms."
His voice carried a faint hint of mockery.
"Worshipped like gods."
Sif gritted her teeth.
"You maintain peace in the universe," Jack continued calmly.
"You protect other realms."
"And because of that…"
"You believe you are superior."
"That you are above all others."
Sif's grip tightened.
"Stop talking nonsense!" she shouted. "Do not insult Asgard!"
She tried to pull her sword back—
But it didn't move.
Not even an inch.
Jack's expression remained indifferent.
"Today," he said quietly, "you've met me."
"And I'll show you…"
"How fragile you really are."
His fingers tightened.
Crack.
The sword shattered.
Broken cleanly in his hand.
Sif froze.
"How… how is that possible?"
Her voice trembled.
She could not believe it.
A human—
Surpassing Asgardian power?
---
"Sif, move aside!"
Volstagg roared as he charged forward, his massive axe raised high.
"You brat—face me!"
He swung the axe down with immense force.
Jack raised his hand again.
And caught it.
The blade stopped inches from his body.
Jack glanced at the axe casually.
"This… is your strength?"
His voice was calm.
Almost disappointed.
"At this level… it's underwhelming."
Volstagg roared.
"AHHH—!"
Jack suddenly moved.
His grip tightened around the axe.
Then—
He swung.
Volstagg's massive body was lifted off the ground and hurled away along with his weapon.
BOOM!
He crashed into a building, debris scattering everywhere.
"Volstagg!" Sif shouted.
---
A sharp sound cut through the chaos.
Whoosh—!
An arrow pierced through the air with deadly precision.
It struck Jack at the back of his head.
The arrow sank in.
"Tom—!" Jane cried out instinctively.
Her voice trembled.
She couldn't control herself.
Even now—knowing who he was—she still reacted.
Pepper clenched her fists tightly.
She stared at Jack.
He had been hit.
A perfect shot.
But—
There was no satisfaction.
No relief.
She should have been happy.
He should die.
That's what she believed.
So why—
Why did she feel nothing?
---
Fandral lowered his bow slightly, smiling.
"Always watch your back," he said lightly.
"You're too confident."
Jack slowly lifted his head.
"I've always been confident."
His voice was cold.
Then—
In front of everyone—
He reached back.
Grabbed the arrow.
And pulled it out.
Blood followed.
But—
He remained standing.
Completely unaffected.
"You actually managed to pierce my skin," Jack said calmly.
"That deserves praise."
His eyes shifted toward Fandral.
"But…"
"Are you ready to face my anger?"
Fandral stepped back slightly.
"That's… impossible…"
Sif, Volstagg, and Hogun all stared in disbelief.
That arrow—
Forged from rare Asgardian crystal.
Capable of piercing almost anything.
And yet—
It had barely injured him.
Who… was he?
---
Jane exhaled softly.
Relief.
Despite everything—
She was relieved.
Her emotions twisted inside her.
Confusion. Pain. Concern.
All tangled together.
Pepper noticed.
"You're worried about him?" she asked.
Jane hesitated.
"I'm not…"
"I just…"
She didn't know how to explain.
Pepper stared at her.
"Don't tell me…"
"You actually like him?"
Her voice turned sharp.
"He's Jack."
"The most dangerous man in the world."
"The enemy of humanity."
Jane lowered her head.
"I only know one thing," she said quietly.
"The Tom I knew…"
"He was a good person."
Pepper shook her head.
"You're beyond saving."
"You're lying to yourself."
"There is no Tom."
"There is only Jack."
Jane looked up.
"And you're different?" she asked.
Pepper's voice turned cold.
"I want to tear him apart."
"Piece by piece."
Jane shook her head.
"No."
"That's not what your eyes say."
Pepper froze.
"When you saw him being kind to me…"
"You were uncomfortable."
Jane's voice softened.
"You were angry."
Pepper immediately denied it.
"No."
Jane pressed on.
"Then why are you reacting like this?"
Pepper turned away.
"I'm not."
Jane sighed.
"You're just stubborn."
---
At that moment—
Jack vanished.
Gone.
"Too fast—where is he?!" Fandral shouted.
"Behind you!" Sif yelled.
Fandral turned instantly.
But—
It was too late.
"Too slow."
Jack's voice echoed.
BAM!
A kick landed.
Fandral was launched over twenty meters, crashing face-first into the ground.
"Hateful!" Hogun roared.
He charged forward, swinging his spiked club.
Jack dodged effortlessly.
"That weapon…" Jack said lightly.
"It might be better used for something else."
Hogun roared and attacked again.
The club slammed into the ground, cracking the earth.
But Jack stepped forward.
Placed his foot on the weapon.
Holding it down.
"You think this can stop me?" Jack said calmly.
Hogun struggled.
His face turned red.
Sweat poured down.
But the weapon wouldn't move.
---
"Hogun! I'll help you!" Sif shouted.
She rushed forward—
But Jack disappeared again.
"Ah—!"
Sif gasped.
An arm wrapped around her neck from behind.
"You should stay still," Jack whispered into her ear.
"It's better that way."
"Let me go!" Sif struggled.
"Hogun, attack!"
Jack glanced at Hogun.
"Trying to save her?"
His eyes changed.
"Not happening."
BOOM!
A shockwave struck.
Hogun was sent flying.
---
A sharp whistling sound filled the air.
Jack looked up.
Mjolnir.
Rushing toward him with overwhelming force.
He released Sif.
Raised his hand.
And—
Caught it.
