"I'm so glad we don't live in the desert," Danny complained as he returned from the building. "Do you realize it's 94 degrees?"
"It's not like it doesn't get hot back home."
"Yeah, but not like this. I couldn't stand living in this weather all year. I'd miss the snow too much."
The rest stop was empty, and I wasn't sure if it's because this place is out in the middle of nowhere or the dragons are still playing in the sky.
They were playing tag, their scales matching the afternoon blue almost perfectly.
"We won't be here too long," the heat clung to you, crawling under your clothes and wrapping itself around you like a snake. I had to agree it wasn't for me either.
"It's not that bad," Nefra joined us, not sweating as much as we were. "At least there was a bathroom… How's your headache?"
Getting on her tiptoes, she rested her hand on my forehead, a crease of concern wrinkling her brow.
