I was almost out the door when a hand grabbed my arm, forcing me back.
"What the fuck did you say?" Ivy pushed me against the wall, her teeth bared and face contorted in disgust.
"I'm Ivan's mate," I wasn't scared. Others had that luxury; I couldn't, and I was proud to be with him.
Ivy was a werewolf, and it wouldn't take much to do more damage, but she didn't scare me like Jackie did.
"As if Alpha Treyson would have someone like you," she sneered, not letting go of my arm.
"Why not?" I wanted to know. The only other female werewolf I knew was Taylor. So, I didn't know how others would receive me.
"You're human," and that one sentence changed the tension in the room.
I saw it in her friends. How Liz took a step back, and the other two looked uncomfortable.
"Racist much?" Was it me, or was the bathroom getting warmer?
'Oh, fuck…'
