"I'm sorry." It's the fifteenth time I've said it, but I don't feel like it's enough.
"Sugar, you're fine," Jayla, my personal nurse, patted my arm. "You aren't the first woman to scratch me in this ward; you will not be the last."
"I'm still sorry," of course, chaos surrounded me. I remembered everything that happened, which was worse.
"Remind me to tell you about the couple who came in for the serum and got so lost in their heat that they escaped out the emergency exit… They had twins last year."
"So… this is common?" It didn't feel like it was.
