Roxy's POV
"H-Hey, I'm sorry..."
I may be a Devil, but I'm not bad. I sat up, stared at the man who smiled at the ground and kicked a small pebble it landed on the puddle next to a tree. The pebble sizzled away.
"Wait...is the ground acidic too?" I asked myself. Indeed, it was. Bioreactions triggered by lack of sunlight, huh? I've seen these places once or twice in my life.
"Cyrus, I'm sorry. Let me take you above." I said, reaching to hold his hand. His shoes have melted. I didn't even notice that. Yet, his body didn't react. His feet didn't dissolve into the acid capable of reacting with pebbles. What is he made of now? Diamonds?
I levitated us to the tallest tree, where the breeze was never stopped by other trees. Just us against the weird, mutated forests of Okinawa. I made the cloud bed again, almost had to force Cyrus to sit on it. I knew why he was acting so stubborn, hurt like a child.
