Unwavering darkness surrounded the surroundings. No matter where I look, I couldn't find anyone or anything. It was like when the blackness of night covers the earth. With my vision obstructed, I couldn't help but feel uneasy; however, as though the darkness could feel my uneasiness, light began to glitter, and the surroundings became clear. The shouts and cries of people gradually became louder. The scenery before me showed a battlefield that was deprived of any vegetation or plantations.
It was a large dried-up open field with the scenery of a cloudless night sky a large moon illuminated the ground. The scenery was rather pleasant; however, there was also a tense atmosphere surrounding the battlefield as there was a large number of people carrying swords, shields and spears. The knights were all armed; they were all equipped with swords and shields, while on the other side, an army of people with dark-skinned and red eyes carried long swords and spears.
"Don't give them a single chance to rest! Make sure you all stay in formations; mages take the rear and fire advance-level magic!"
The commander shouted to his subordinates and the mages behind him before rushing into battle.
"You hear the captain doesn't let a single one of them enter the Kingdom!"
Another man, carrying a sword and shield, said while keeping his guard against the demons coming his way. The Knights and soldier all charged toward the demons holding their respective weapons, clash of metal resounded the battlefield as more and more corpses began to fill the battlefield, a soldier holding a sword 2 meters tall swung at the demon sending his head flying, a large amount of blood flood out of his headless body, the soldier then turn his eyes to his next target however before he could attack.
"Agraah!"
The knight cried loudly as a sharp claw pierced the centre of his forehead. A large amount of blood trickled down his face before his eyes lost their shine. The scent of blood covered the battlefield.
"Mother of fire, blast my target flare ball!"
The mages all chanted their spells simultaneously. A magic formation was formed as a ball of fire was then fired. The spells of the mages illuminated the battlefield. Each of the fireballs went towards the demons slowly approaching.
"Augrhh."
The demons raised a loud groan as their bodies were hit by the flames. A soldier holding a spear immediately threw it with great speed towards a demon who was running at high speed towards him. The spear then struck his head, killing him instantly. The demons then attack the knights using their claws; however, the knights used their shields to block the upcoming attack.
"No matter what, don't let a single one of them pass through the gate!! Graaah."
The knight shouted before he was pierced by the demons' swords.
"Fufufu…. you humans are weak."
The demon said with a sinister grin on his face. The two weapons clash with a clang. The commander swung his sword horizontally; however, the demon swung his sword and parried his swing. The commander put strength into his sword and tried to push back the demon; however, the one who was pushed back was the commander. The physical strength between their two races was clear. The commander lost his balance and stumbled backwards, causing a fatal opening. The demon took that opening and brought his sword downward to deliver the final blow, however...
Slash~
The sound of a sword could be heard cutting through the air as the head of the demon was sent flying into the air, spraying a trail of fresh blood on the ground. The commander turned his half-opened eyes towards the boy standing before him, the boy with slightly long black coloured hair that reaches his brow, wearing a long black coat that reaches his knees with purple line streaks going across.
The streaks on the side gave a faint glow as the boy stood while holding a long, beautiful, silver thin sword with a green gemstone implanted within the hilt. The silver blade also glimmers a faint light. The boy had a handsome face; he seemed to be in his early twenties, and there was not even a single bit of emotion on his face. He narrowed his golden eyes while glaring at the demons approaching him.
"It looks like you saved me again, Lord Sato."
The commander said with a wry smile. Though there was a look of relief present on his face, which was drenched with sweat, of course, he could have been killed moments ago. Even while this war was happening, many of the men didn't want to die; it was obvious that many of them were scared. The word 'Death' didn't give favours to anyone. On a battlefield, death was present everywhere. Guessing the mental state of the commander, the boy made a frown before pondering for a while.
"Get everyone to group up, I'll go eliminate the enemy's commander."
He said while gazing into the distance, he then held his sword tightly in his hands and sprinted towards the commander, who was giving out orders. Many of the demons tried attacking him on the way; however, he easily exterminated them using either high-level magic or simply beheading them with swift movements.
The black-haired boy was now standing before the enemy's commander, with piles of dead, headless corpses lying behind him, his coat fluttered gently behind him by the wind pressure, showing a sense of elegance. He then stared at the demon's commander, who had a muscular build and seemed to be about 7cm tall. To the black-haired boy, he was like a giant; however, his composed expression didn't change.
"Who are you, and who gives you the right to stand before me?"
He said, narrowing his red eyes towards the boy. Hearing such questions, the boy simply made a stance with his silver sword ready in his hand. The sword then shone with a brilliant light as though it was rivalling the light of the sun.
"I'm Haruto Sato, the one who will put an end to this useless war."
The boy declared simply. Darkness began to cover the world, and the scenery became blurry.

"Maafg… is it morning already? It felt like I just went to sleep."
I muttered while still being half asleep. I quickly checked my surroundings and saw the familiar room I've been in since coming here. Seeing that, I let out a sigh.
(Did I forget something? I'm sure I had a dream just now, but for some reason I can't remember.)
I felt troubled. I'm not sure if it's important, but I have a feeling it wasn't a dream I should have forgotten. I tried remembering the dream, but no matter how much I tried, I wasn't able to remember anything. I then move my hands towards my bed covers when-
"Haaah."
I heard a coquettish voice from underneath the covers. There was also the sound of someone's soft breathing audible to my ears. My hands were on something really soft and squishy.
(Don't tell me.)
I thought while slowly removing the bed sheets. Then a beautiful girl with long, wavy green hair appeared from beneath the sheets. Her glossy green hair was slightly dishevelled by her sleeping posture. Her legs were slightly exposed, showing her snow-white thigh. On her cheek, there was a tinge of pink present there.
"Hey, Alya, what are you doing? Didn't I tell you to return to your spirit form once I'm asleep?"
I said with an exasperated voice. Hearing my loud voice, she slowly opened her eyes and yawn cutely.
"Haruto, is it time to wake up already?"
She said, rubbing her teary eyes with her right hand.
"Didn't I tell you, you can't sleep with me?"
"It was Haruto who decided to hug me while you slept, you know, even though all I wanted was to go, you decided to use my chest as a pillow, don't you remember?"
She said with a playful grin.
"Hey, taking advantage of me when I'm asleep is rude, you know!"
I shouted, pointing my index finger at her with a blush cheek.
"Keep it down a bit, you're going to draw attention from the other rooms."
She said, putting her finger on her lips.
"Is there something wrong? You look slightly distressed."
She said, squinting her neatly refined eyes at me. I guess it's impossible to hide things from a contracted spirit. I sighed quietly.
"I had a strange dream, but I can't remember it properly."
I said somewhat conflicted. Towards such an answer, Alya tilted her head.
"A strange dream, you say."
"Yeah… but I forgot it doesn't matter anymore."
I said, shrugging my shoulders with a tired look. Alya's face became serious for a moment. She then made a contemplative look before speaking.
"Can you try to tell me one thing that happened in your dream, anything you can remember?"
She said while staring at me.
"Hmm… anything, huh… well, I remember seeing a battlefield with soldiers of a certain kingdom and another group of people I don't know."
I said, folding both my arms with a serious face. Alya's eyes gave a slight glint.
"Maybe you were thinking about going to a battlefield before you fell asleep."
She said, giving a small wink. You know, I had a little expectation when her face became serious, but I guess it's my fault for believing in her. I sighed quietly while thinking that.
"I don't know what that dream was, but it doesn't matter right now. It's time to get ready."
I muttered while slowly getting off the bed.
