Jong Xiba grabbed Nao Bhikang and shoved him to the stairs. "Move! We have a lot to talk about once we reach the Inquisition Center."
As he started toward the stairs, he noticed a group of three approaching the city. One of them wore the same attire as he did. He frowned. Didn't Inquisitor Xun Yan bring all the other inquisitors to check out the anomaly?
He leaned on the parapet. After getting a better view, he identified the inquisitor. It was Guo Lang. This inquisitor was among those Xun Yan appointed to lead the platoons spread throughout the region. Why was he here instead of patrolling his assigned area? And why was he alone instead of with his platoon?
Jong Xiba decided to find out. He grabbed Nao Bhikang, still confused. They walked down the stairs and headed to the entry checkpoint.

Amon walked beside the possessed Guo Lang. Lin Li walked behind them. Her hands were bound by one end of the runic chains. Guo Lang held the other end.
