Across two tables, Emma Hayes had a clear view of everything the whole time. At first she'd just wanted to watch a joke, but the joke never materialized—instead she discovered Alice had someone powerful by her side!
"Emma, Jack, is that Mr. Chalmers guy Alice's boyfriend?" their agent asked.
"We've been in a band together all these years, I've never heard Alice mention a boyfriend," Jack answered.
In their eyes, Alice was basically a total workaholic, work on the brain and in her eyes all the time. Besides band stuff, she also held down several other jobs. They only knew she had just her mom and younger brother at home and needed to earn money to support the family; they didn't know much else.
