Chapter 6 - Chapter Six

We spent the afternoons with no one, but Andy and May knew we were together. I enjoyed the time we had but knew it would end soon. I don't love Jack. I'll have to be his wife and try to have an heir. Me as a mother? I'm not ready for it. For any of that future. "You're distracted again." April said, running her fingers in my hair. "No, well, yeah. I'm sorry."

April smiled. "I know it's hard, but we have each other, right?" She kissed me softly. The sound of the door opening made us jump apart. It was Andy and Jack. "Well, Jack is here." Andy said to warn us. It's a bit late though. "What are you doing?" Jack demanded. "You are in my house you can't just demand things from people." I snapped, aggravated. His eyes widen in surprise. "You are my bride to be." "You know that means you can't control her." April spoke. Jack glared at her with heat. "What business is it of yours blood sucker?" "No calling her names, Jack. Now what do you want?" "You've been ignoring my calls and texts. Also, it's summer vacation so, I can't see you at school. Your dad let us in. You turn eighteen before school starts in August. I wanted to make sure you didn't break your side of the pact." He explained. My birthday is in July. The twenty-ninth to be exact. It's a month away to the day. "Well, you see I am still here, can you leave now?" I rolled my eyes. "Once we are married, you are forbidden to see her or Andrew again. Plus you will be moving in with me. So, stop being so cozy with your friends." He left with a huff. He thinks he can control me? That isn't how love and marriage works. I didn't believe in it before till I met April. But love is real. I can feel it just by thinking about her or being next to her. Seeing her smile. Being with her when she's upset. I am in love with April. She is the one who I should marry. "Can't stand that guy. I can't believe he thinks he is going to hold you hostage from your friends and family. Don't worry Mika, I will always be your friend." Andy declared. I smiled. "You are family, Andy." "Yeah, he's a jerk. I can't believe I'm losing you to him." April growled. Her eyes shine red for a second. Her hand was cold as I held it. She never lost her temper unless something bad happened. She's my protector. "I am not going anywhere. I don't need someone controlling me. I'm a strong person and I will not go down without a fight." I said defiantly. April smiled sweetly at me then pulled me into her arms. "You are so cute sometimes." She whispered before kissing me deeply. This felt like a memory that wasn't meant to be remembered. If we stayed much longer this wouldn't happen anymore. "I'm sorry baby, you must think I'm weird, kissing you when you don't want it." She sighed before releasing me. My heart sank in disappointment. "You guys are too cute. I'm going to go so you can have a room to yourselves." Andy laughed leaving. Blushing I turned to April. "Is there a way out?" I asked softly. She chuckled. "With out starting a war between my family and your pack? No, I don't think so." "I don't regret saying yes, because you got to stay and we got together. But, the price has to be paid. It's like I sold my soul to the devil." I sighed. "Close, we could run away?" She suggested. I thought about it. Running away from everything was tempting. To get away from Jack and the weight of the it. But like she said a war between our families would happen. I can't let others be hurt for my happiness. "April, as much as I want to be with you. I can't run away. I'll talk to Alpha for his blessing to not marry his son. That will be our only hope." She nodded. The next day, I went to Alpha Jack. "Hi Mika, what can I do for you?" I got onto my knees. "Sir, I came to beg you. I don't want to marry your son." I said with tears in my eyes. "Child, what are you talking about? We already decided you wouldn't marry him. He is betrothed to Lucy Miller, daughter of my third in command." I looked up in surprised. "But he said in order to get the meeting with the vampires you said I'd have to marry him." I stood up. "Dang that boy. No, child you are free of him on a romantic level, but he will be our future Alpha." "I'm sorry to disturb you." I bowed and went home. When I got home I went directly to the bathroom where I vomited my breakfast. That was nerve-racking. After I calmed down, I smiled. I can be with April now in the open. Not that it matters what everyone else says. Now to tell April the good news. I ran to her house. "Hey Mika, April's in the backyard." Jason answered. I went to the back. She was sitting under the willow again writing in her book. She keeps diaries of her life since she was born in 1902. She was a born vampire. A pure blood. She never got to experience being a true human. She likes going to school though and learning knew information. She smiled when she noticed me. I sat beside her. "April, I love you." I admitted. She leaned in and kissed me. "I love you too." I hugged her and told her what my alpha had said. "That complete asshole." She swore. I laughed. "I'm just so happy that I can be with you." "You guys are dating? A vampire and a werewolf? How does that work?" Jason came outside. I blushed. "It's called love." April answered hugging me. He laughed. "Whatever floats your boat." He walked away. April kissed me again. I wrapped my arms around her pulling her closer. "What does this mean for us?" She asked me. I frowned. "I guess I have to take the next step, huh?" She smirked and kissed me. "Will you be my serious out and proud girlfriend?" I asked. "Yes! Finally!" She screamed, knocking me to the ground. I laughed. It's safe to say this was the best summer ever. I wanted to remember this moment forever. We spent the rest of the summer together.

April has become the most important person in the world. In every single aspect.

Our relationship grew stronger every day. She gave me unconditional love and loyalty. The kindest, sweetest soul, the most beautiful woman. I will cherish her every day. I will never abandon her. We are a team and nothing will come between us. I promise. Our bond strengthened with every kiss, touch, and word spoken. To simply do it, I am in love with her for always.
