Chapter 150: Brother
20 JULY - KONOHA YEAR 46
It was not just Lady Mito who had noticed the action coming from the Senju Clan, especially those elders who had abandoned their family name.
Even Raiken who had never involved himself with Senju Clan, had noticed it too and he understood exactly why it was happening without needing to send anyone to investigate. Human nature was predictable enough when you knew what to look for and this happen just after both Uchiha and Uzumaki clan become rich.
But right now his mind was on a something else and even if he has free time, he won't interrupt with how Senju Clan deal with their affair.
Not everything in Konoha need his help, something are better left it for them to resolve it by themselves.
Currently his mind are on Minato, his new disciple.
To be honest he did not hate Minato because the boy was talented, perhaps more naturally gifted than anyone Raiken had encountered since arriving in this world and that was true, since he had become his disciple, Minato absorbed knowledge like sponge.
But talent was one thing and character was another and it was the character of Minato that slowly make Raiken wanted him to go far from him.
It had been few days since Minato come and learn from him but he noticed how Minato react whenever Kushina was present and it frustrated him.
In the original story, his sister Kushina had died while his nephew Naruto grew up alone and miserable, all because Minato had chosen the village over his family who are in front of him, he also believed with the words like prophecy and also his duty as Hokage.
Which are different compared to Raiken, who believed protect your family first then you can protect others.
Raiken was not the kind of person who held grudges against someone for things they had not done yet. But knowing it and feeling it were two different things and the brother instinct that rose in him whenever he watched Minato look at Kushina was not something he could swat away.
He wanted to separate Minato and Kushina but doing so would make him feel like he had done a crime.
For some reason his heart keep telling him not to interrupt them and only prevent them from doing something outrageous and immoral.
Right now he was in the middle of waiting for Minato to arrive at the training ground and Minato is someone who always early on time.
If the training starts at 9 am, he would come at 8.55 am before the appointment. But today Raiken arrived 10 minutes early than Minato.
"You are not late," said Raiken, glancing at him and the look of disappointment could be seen from his face.
"I would not dare to be late sensei," replied Minato.
The corner of Raiken mouth moved very slightly.
Raiken was not the kind of teacher who gave long speeches before getting to work, he was someone who always teach the theory and practical training directly.
To be honest, he didn't give long explaination because the one who are receiving his teaching are Minato and boy he seemed to understand it very fast.
Things that took others one day to master, Minato would finish it in 10 minutes and the jutsu that would make the others at least a month to master.
Minato only take about a week and he had mastered the jutsu, that is how absurd Minato with learning new jutsu. An hour had passed and Minato progress have almost completed before suddenly the footstep are coming.
"Brother, I brought food," called Kushina, holding up a wrapped bundle as she walked toward them. She slowed slightly when she noticed Minato standing there, her expression shifting for just a moment before settling back into something more neutral. "Oh, you are here Minato."
"Kushina san," said Minato, and despite his best efforts there was something in the way he said it make his tone kind of cheerful.
Raiken watched all of this without comment and as a man and those who had lived watching Drama, he wasn't stupid and knows exactly what happen to Minato.
'There it is,' he thought quietly.
Kushina set the food down on the flat rock near the edge of the ground and began unwrapping it for her brother. But suddenly instead of giving it to her brother, she was the one who eating bento that her sister in law had made.
"You can eat too," she said toward Minato without looking at him, which for Kushina just wanted his brother to stop and come eat together.
Minato blinked as though he had not expected that and then quickly composed himself.
"Thank you," he said simply.
Raiken picked up his portion and sat down, looking between the two of them with the calm expression of someone who was thinking about the original plot. He knew exactly what was happening here and all the body language that he had seen from Minato. He had known from the moment Minato asked to become his disciple that the Rasengan had only been half the reason the boy had walked over that day.
This is perks of being transmigrator from modern era, all those entertainment helps him reading the other person.
'You have time,' Raiken thought, looking at Minato who was now carefully not looking at Kushina. 'But not as much as you think.'
10 minutes passed and he had finished his food before stood up.
"Break is over," said Raiken. "Minato, I want to see the Rasenshuriken with another chakra like I have shown you before and Kushina you can stay if you want."
Kushina crossed her arms but she did not leave instead she also wanted to see the progress of Minato training.
Raiken turned back toward the center of the training ground.
Minato closed the bento box and tie it before saying thank you to Kushina and go to his new sensei. He began showing the new Rasenshuriken that he had been practiced before.
Kushina was surprised seeing the Jutsu that she had tried to master for 3 months. Are easily mastered by Minato just in a week.
