Chapter 226 - Chapter 226 - 50 Stabs.

[Chapter Size: 2400 Words.]

Third Person POV.

Winterfell.

...

...

Winterfell was caught by surprise, with no prior warning about the white dragon arriving over its skies, while Winter made sure to announce her presence with a roar and a lower flight, her wings passing only a few dozen meters from the tallest towers of the castle.

Meanwhile, Daemon delighted in the sight of countless servants and soldiers running through the courtyard while windows filled with necks and heads leaning out.

Rarely did the men and women there lose their fear of a dragon, running somewhere to protect themselves, even though, by this point, everyone should already, in some way, be accustomed to his female dragon.

She landed near Winterfell first, dropping the two bodies from a few meters above the ground, the men's screams awakening that moment as their bones nearly broke from being dropped from that height. Daemon did not care.

He had not asked Winter to be gentle with them.

As soon as Winter landed, Daemon dismounted her and went to the two men, who were seized by telekinesis and lifted from the ground. He ignored their screams of pain and headed toward the entrance of Winterfell, with the two struggling behind him.

Passing by everyone, receiving greetings with knees on the ground, Daemon found Daenerys waiting for him with Barristan Selmy, curious and excited by his return. Lucis joined her. Bran also came walking to greet Jon. Although he no longer walked at a normal pace, he was progressing well.

Arya and Rickon also appeared, along with Shireen Baratheon. The girl had the look of someone who hoped he was there to cure her, but that he would do at another time.

The sight of the bodies floating behind Daemon made many people wary, but he did not care.

First, everyone knelt before him, with the exception of Daenerys. "Stand up." Daemon gave the order and dropped Jaime's body to the ground and ordered the Stark soldiers: "Tie them up."

The soldiers present quickly organized themselves to begin placing ropes on the men, who were still groaning.

Daemon was already sealing a kiss on his wife, greeting Lucis in the same way, then each of the young Starks.

Bran already knew of his possible arrival, as the raven he had left with the army had seen him depart after Jaime Lannister's ship.

"You are getting good at this, Bran," Daemon said, pleased with his abilities, as the boy smiled.

"Look at that, he's blushing. Is it true that he sti—", Arya did not even manage to finish, as Daemon placed a hand over her mouth, making a gesture with his other finger over his lips for her to remain silent.

"There are certain things that are not good to say in public, Arya," Daemon said in a calm but serious tone.

She tried to pull free, her mouth opening again, but she said nothing as she grumbled.

"I know you want to know about many things. We will talk later. I will speak of our conquests in the hall," he said, and she nodded.

He greeted Rickon as well, and Shireen Baratheon.

Her mother was somewhere around there, he could feel her gaze upon him.

Daemon returned to the two bound men, groaning. "Put them in the dungeons. And put a gag in that one's mouth as well," Daemon snapped at Ser Amory Lorch, knowing his end would not be easy. He might try to kill himself in order to prevent what would come by Daemon's hand.

The man had a broken arm and an injured leg, barely able to move, and was still screaming in pain, but the gag immediately muffled the sound.

Daemon then returned to his wife, kneeling slightly and touching her belly as he placed his ear there, in a paternal gesture.

"He is growing."

"Yes," Daenerys replied. "Soon he will be among us... our little prince," she added.

Daemon stood up and, with nothing more than a calm smile, took Daenerys by the arm and turned to Lucis, offering his other arm.

"How about we take a walk before we start discussing more serious matters?" Daemon wanted to relax a bit.

"Let's go," both of them nodded.

Daemon turned his gaze back to Bran, who was standing there, watching someone being dragged to the dungeon: Jaime, who looked at Bran despite the pain, with surprised eyes.

The boy's eyes trembled, as if he could not properly express what he felt. Daemon sighed and, before continuing on with his wives, went to him.

"Hey, don't worry about him. He will pay for what he did to you... When I return to the south, I will execute him in front of King's Landing," Daemon said calmly.

He had thought of executing him in Winterfell, but it would not be very well appreciated. "I will do it in front of his father, just as Tywin executed the Targaryen children by the order of his men. His most precious son must die without him being able to do anything."

Daemon then returned to his wives, and they spent the rest of that afternoon together, with Barristan Selmy following behind. At some point, Jon took Daenerys to the dragon, and they flew through the skies of the North for a few minutes, returning some time later.

"And what about that Aegon Blackfyre?" she asked at some point after dismounting from Winter.

"He is in the south, negotiating with the Tyrells. They will probably unite against us, but do not worry," Daemon reassured her.

"And the dragons?" Daenerys murmured carefully.

"From what I have seen, only one obeys him, the one he became a rider of. There is a black dragon and another green one. There is a chance they will not even get involved in the war, but if they do, I will deal with them myself," he said.

She nodded, with a touch of confidence. If Daemon said he could handle them, she believed him.

They returned to Winterfell, while Ghost finally appeared. He had been in the forest that afternoon, and Daemon had not even bothered to call him upon arriving, but the wolf himself, along with a small pack, heard the dragon from afar and had been advancing toward Winterfell ever since.

"How are you, buddy?", Daemon said, kneeling beside the direwolf. Besides Ghost, he also saw Shaggydog and Summer with the pack.

"I ended up sleeping in late today and had closed the room. Ghost didn't complain, but I had to let him out in the afternoon, because he always does his run through the forest in the morning...", Daenerys said.

Daemon nodded as she crouched near the wolf and touched his fur as well. They returned to the castle together with the wolves.

Night was already falling, but Daemon called Arya to talk in the godswood and also gathered the Children of the Forest.

"You called me. This has to do with Nymeria, doesn't it?", she said immediately, excited, while Daemon did not deny it.

"Yes. I found your wolf, as you asked, and I tried to tell her to go north." Daemon had found not only a direwolf, but also a massive pack of smaller wolves that followed her.

"I sent her north, but it would be easier for you to enter her mind," he said, as Arya's eyes widened.

"Like Bran does with the birds? Just like you also do with Ghost?", she said, excited.

"Yes." Daemon said and turned back to the Children of the Forest. "That's why it's necessary for you to give her the liquid bark, so that she releases some of her warg abilities. I am sure she is already bonded with Nymeria. After all, even I tried to enter the wolf's mind and couldn't, which means she already had a bond," he explained, as Leaf, among the other Children of the Forest who had gathered after Daemon called them, nodded.

Arya would not be nearly as powerful as Bran in warg abilities, nor even Daemon himself, but this would help bring her wolf back, if she at least guided her north every night.

Leaf began to take a small pot with a special liquid from the sacred tree, and Daemon let Arya be treated by them, while he once again noticed another presence floating there: his mother.

"I thought you weren't going to greet me," she said.

Daemon gave a sad smile and could not help but notice something. "You are fading."

"Yes," she said. Her colors were growing weaker and weaker, giving signs that she would disintegrate at any moment.

"Perhaps you have a week or two," he said.

"That's true, but I can't complain. After all, two moons ago, you told me we would not see each other again. And here we are, with you returning to Winterfell twice, I am a happy mother to see her son at least a few last times," she said.

Daemon nodded in silence. He heard his mother ask about the war, about how her brother was doing, and even ask how Benjen was, who had gone to the Wall.

Daemon explained what was being done in the south, and also reported about the Wall, and how they were dealing with the prisoners, which had made Benjen return to the Wall to help the Lord Commander deal with more than three thousand new recruits... Daemon kept his eyes on the animals in that area.

When Daemon turned his attention back to his little cousin, Arya had already fainted, with white eyes, against the tree, before blacking out completely. Daemon picked her up and took her to the castle.

"Put her in her room. She will wake up tomorrow morning," he asked some men loyal to the Starks, leaving Bran relieved to know that his sister had left the godswood only unconscious when he found her being carried by her cousin king.

At the feast, Daemon spoke of the conquest of the West, after returning to the Riverlands, where he secured the support of several lords.

"You conquered Casterly Rock?", Rickon exclaimed, excited.

"Yes, it was not difficult," Daemon simply said, and it truly had not been. The last Lannisters had been captured and killed, and now only those in King's Landing remained.

He continued speaking until he reached King's Landing. After that, they began to withdraw. Daemon slept with Daenerys and Lucis that night. Early in the morning, he had ordered Winter to be fed and the godswood to be isolated, while a certain prisoner was taken from the dungeon to the place.

No one dared to enter the godswood. Rumors had already spread throughout the North about what Daemon did when he took someone who was about to be executed to the heart tree. Many free folk had witnessed how he had dealt with Gregor Clegane and spread it among the northerners. Other rumors about Ramsay's fate had also spread, since Daemon had flayed him alive and crucified him at the entrance of Moat Cailin.

Amory Lorch himself was to be executed, and he was terrified as he was taken there. Even the Children of the Forest did not remain in the place. Daemon simply stared at him, shoving him against the tree.

"Well, it is time to make you pay for the fifty stab wounds you gave my sister," Daemon began, ignoring his trembling look, though he was unable to speak with the gag still in his mouth.

"I thought of many ways to kill you, but I think I should treat you the same way you treated my sister on her third nameday... But I will not give you a quick death either...", Daemon began to explain, as he summoned several Springers, which terrified the man even more.

"Do not worry about them. They will heal you to the point that you will not die so easily. After that, I will rip your soul out when you take your final breath. This is my personal execution for you, and no one will stop it," Daemon continued, to the man's terror.

"You thought you gained much by executing an innocent child, but this is the result of your actions. You no longer have a family, you will not have a name to pass on, nor even a dignified death. You will be killed in a brutal and savage way, because that is what you deserve. And lastly, you will not even be able to rest, for I will take your soul and give it to the Princes of Darkness. I will only wait until the third soul is collected," Daemon declared, as a dagger materialized in his hand.

He simply removed the gag from the man's mouth.

"Please, don't...", were his first words, but Daemon did not care. He merely stepped closer and drove the first stab into his chest, making the man scream in pain.

He did not even have time to react, as Daemon raised the blade and struck again, and again, and again, while the man, desperate, tried to push him away, blood gushing all over his body. However, unable to move with a broken leg and arms bound in rope.

"Calm yourself. Those were only five stabs, one tenth of the total. Be more patient," Daemon said calmly, ignoring the no longer human screams amid the wounds, as he looked at the Springer.

"Do not close the wounds, only prevent him from dying of hemorrhage," was all he said.

As the magic was performed, the man continued begging and screaming in pain, in complete despair. Daemon quickly raised the dagger once more and continued, stab after stab. It reached a dozen, then two dozen, and so it went on without pause, with Daemon continuing to pierce him in a cruel manner.

About forty minutes had passed when Daemon looked at the ground, now completely covered in spilled blood. He then raised his hand, as a small purple energy appeared above it. It was the soul of Ser Lorch.

He kept his soul beside Gregor's soul, which would receive a fate far worse than death. They would suffer for eternity. The Tully bitch could be cruel to him, but Daemon did not seem to justify such a fate for her and let her live as an ugly corpse, but these two, along with the last one in King's Landing, they would have a terrible end, and Daemon would give them no mercy.
